My dealer here in Alabama says most Limiteds will not come with the offroad pkgs. I'm not looking for a monster jeep, I'd just like something comparable to my 04 Jeep GC with the Trail Rated badge, skid plates etc. Will the "normal" limited be capable enough if I want to go off road in the mountains, or should I opt for one of these pkgs? Also, wouldn't Jeep just build a certain number of them with pkg I or II anyway to see which sell better? I think I'm all for the V6 this go around. 290 hp seems like enough since I don't tow that often, and I might just improve my 14mpg avg I get in my 04 V8.
What do you think?
Yes yes, I'm a newbie. JUST discovered the jeepgarage website last night after being directed to WK2 Jeeps. I love it!

The "normal" limited should be quite capable. However, wait till July when the quadra lift is available. The ones coming out now wil NOT have the ability to lift and lower the vehicle. That feature will not be available till July 6th.
Thanks, I'll wait a month for those to come trickling in. I was going to wait to check out the Garmin Nav system anyway. Can't wait to see these bad boys in person... and to think I almost pulled the trigger on a Z71 Tahoe a few days ago.
The default order mix for the OR packages is only around 5%-10% of vehicle builds. You would be better off to special order and get exactly what you want. Inventory on the lots is going to be tight for several more months, the chances of finding one equipped as you want and in the right color etc. will be slim.
Fully loaded Limited with Off Road I or and Overland with Off Road II?
By the time you build a Limited with everything you're almost at an Overland's price. I've seen the specs on both OR groups, but unsure of the advantages. I'm sure the only disadvantage is cost, but if we're talking $2k, it'd doable.
I just got my 2014 overland crd with OAPii and I realised after delivery that it had no up hill selec speed. The dealer now tels me that up hill ascent control is not available on the MY14 overland...

If you can afford to get the overland, do it. I couldn't, so I went with the Limited 4x4 with the lux grp. It's significantly cheaper than what I would pay for an overland.
