Lockpick on 2014

Anyone know if this will work on the '14s?

Re: Lockpick on 2014

My guess is going to be no. There is nothing saying or showing about the new 8.4 screens. Everything is up to a 2012 model, no mention of a Jeep model yr. 2014 model radios are different than previous.

Re: Lockpick on 2014

Until the folks that make lock-pick devices can get their hands on the MY14 vehicles...there's no way to know if current devices will work or not.

I'm sure they will make one, and I will certainly buy it! I've always swapped out the stock stereo with an aftermarket, but no doing that with the 14s...

Re: Lockpick on 2014

I haven't felt the need for a lock-pick on my 720N. About the only reason I'd get one at this point is if I needed some additional input for some reason or another...something I doubt will occur. The "warning" clears by itself and I really can't input new addresses while driving anyway. (Most of my travel is alone)

But I'm sure that at some point, the market will accomodate a lock-pick for the new RA series since there is likely to be some kind of demand.

Re: Lockpick on 2014

Being able to watch a movie or input an address in the GPS is a huge plus for my passengers. My Ram has an aftermarket headunit and my wife likes to watch movies on road trips. I'm not a big fan of some of the "safety restrictions."

Also, a front camera would be nice. I love my front cam on my truck...

Before this starts a big ruckus, I don't watch movies or do other stupid stuff while driving...

You say that now, but wait for the aftermarket 8.4" screen aftermarket radios... lol.

I have a feeling that aftermarket radios are starting to get phased out.

Re: Lockpick on 2014

As the 2014s have a new electrical architecture, I doubt the current C8 Lockpick would work on the RA4 radio in the '14s but thought I'd ask. Here's the response I got back from the Lockpick manufacturer on 2/11/13:

Hello,

Thank you so much for your inquiry. Unfortunately at this time your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee is not on the approved list of vehicles that work with the LockPick product. However, we are always adding new makes and models to the lineup. I would recommend checking back with us within a couple of months to ensure compatibility with your particular vehicle. Thanks again and I look forward to speaking with you soon.

Re: Lockpick on 2014

Seems like they are working hard on it. They already have a 'coming soon' page for the 2013 Ram/2014 JGC.

Tell me about it. It's hard to find an electrical connector or harness that is the same as the 2011.

Re: Lockpick on 2014

I am not sure if this has already been posted in a new topic, but apparently there is a new model number for the 2013/14 Ram and 2014 JGC/Durango that is now shipping.

CHR558

Had anyone installed one of these units on the RA3/4?
