Mine has been pretty darn accurate... I make no claim that everyone else's is. : )

I also have the diesel... it's possible that it's possible to more accurately calc the avg mpg on a diesel engine.

Re: Logic behind Average MPG in EVIC

I use the fuelly app as well and my average during every full up is off by .2 miles in comparison to the app.. I have poor driving habits and sit with the car on while on site utilizing my wifi.. Soooo my fuel average sucks but... It hasn't been accurate vs my fuelly app.. Who's to say what is wrong but... My fuelly app is almost always .2 miles less then my car.. 2015 v8 summit with 3200 miles all monitored with my app

Re: Logic behind Average MPG in EVIC

Also I reset the average after every fueling as soon as I turn my car back on from a fill up as well.. But my trip meter has my time in the car all my miles (-6 miles from when I got the car with) and also has my average there as well total.. I won't even tell you what that bad boy says lol but its worst then my 04 v8 with the same exact driving style... Poor lol

I'd take that statement with a grain of salt as it's been spreading around this forum like a bad rumor.

Further more I find it extremely hard to believe that is actually the case. I've had my average MPG read in the 17mpg range for tanks and then rest it and run a tank were the average is always 24+ mpg. If it's truly a rolling average I would of had to be getting 30+ mpg for 300 miles. I certainly wasn't getting 30+ mpg and If I was why didn't I see 30+ in the EVIC after 300 miles???????
Well it's not an overall average, that's for sure.

Re: Logic behind Average MPG in EVIC

The trip meter can be set for a long period of time to get a overall average... I have one of my trip meters since day one counting..

Logic behind Average MPG in EVIC

It does smh.. Whats funny is my 2004 jeep grand cherokee 4.7 v8 gets 13.7-14mpg with the same exact driving habits and fuel.. Now i know i dont have the greatest driving style but i should be getting better improvements then my older jeep.. I tell the dealer about it and there response is change to 93 ( which i did and got a lil less then what i get with 89 bp for 5 fill ups) annnd they also said winter fuel additives play a role as well which i think is straight bullshit bc my old jeep got better fuel mileage in the winter then in the summer mostly bc of the colder temps. So basically they dont know until theres some update with the fuel maps or ecu down the line.. Had a problem with my back left speaker sounding blown and popping sound hitting certain frequencies and they couldnt hear it.. They changed it for me and it still did it.. I was told i wasnt suppose to put it that high (25-27) and brought my car in weds for an oil change and had a few updates.. Radio, amplifier to eleviate popping sound smh.. Now my total gain is low and the frequencies are sharper so base sounds rough instead of rounded or compressed.. Sorry to go of topic but this all leads to the dealers not knowing shit and them making it seem like your wrong or its something thats normal.. Just bitter

Re: Logic behind Average MPG in EVIC

In my opinion mpg w/ads was a way better app.. It let you datalog repairs, oil changes and maintenance all with detailed description but.. The app has a glitch now which doesnt allow you to put all the numbers in.. It also looks cheaper visually then the fuelly app.. I used the other app to monitor my 2004 jeep grand cherokee for almost 3 years. Its the reason i bought new..when i seen how much i "invested" in my jeep with repairs i figured i better buy new with warranty.. But my mpg sucks. Im almost certain theres a fuel mapping problem or something..
