I recently got my GC from Ken of Garden City Jeep at a price I wanted. I suggest you go in knowing the price you want. Expect to play the car buying game. But once they see you did your research, you can come out winning in the end

I bought 2 vehicles from security in the past, great dealer, good service when I needed it. I got my 2013 altitude from merrick, I found the vehicle on thier website, went the next day and got it. they gave me all the rebates and incentives that were in effect at the time, and I think I did well. The only reason I didn't go back to security was that I got this back in december, and was concerned about the flood waters from sandy. I know the water didn't make it as far as sunrise hwy. so I went there instead. I haven't needed to go back for service, so I cant comment on that. Just last month, a new dealer 5 towns chrysler/jeep has just opened around the corner from me and I may give them a try for service if needed as I can leave the jeep and walk home, how convenient!

I have walked into Browns twice now, basically cash-in-hand, ready to buy, and have had trouble getting someone to help me. After waiting around for 15 minutes last time I was there, my family and I walked out. Port Jeff has terrible ratings and a poor record with the BBB. Smithtown has great dealer ratings on the dealerrater site, but an *F* with the BBB. East Hills only recently gave me back my $500 deposit when they couldn't get my vehicle. It took almost two months. I think I am probably going to try Westbury if I can get Chrysler to buy my 2014 GC back which, for the past two and a half weeks, has been in Town & Country's service department for the fourth time since delivery in mid-April.

Doesn't seem to be any "great" dealers on Long Island from what I can tell.

Stay away from Westbury...worst dealership ever. I bought mine at East Hills...salesman was Rich Corea...no bs guy and i got a decent price on my 2012 limited. Went to westbury and garden city before purchasing from east hills.

In my case, I'm thinking next about which dealer has the best service department. It's obvious that Town & Country has zero pull with Chrysler - they can't get anyone to come work on my car and they don't seem like they want to push the issue either. My Jeep has been there going on three weeks now.

The thing about Westbury is that their service department is huge. I stopped in there a month or more ago. They have to have more qualified technicians there than a mom & pop dealership, and if they have a buyer with an issue like mine, I would hope they would have more likelihood of getting escalated cases tended to more quickly. I could be wrong. It just seemed like they have a giant outfit there and work on 50 cars a day if not more.

They also have a loaner program and towing for the full distance to the dealership if anything happens to the car. Chrysler Roadside didn't want to tow my vehicle to my current dealer. I think they would only tow 20 miles or something like that, and the dealer was 38 IIRC.

In short, I know there will be something wrong with my new Jeep, however minor, but I never want to be in this situation again if something more serious happens.

As bad as Smithaven's showroom is I have had very few problems with their service dept. I've been using them almost 6 years now. Only complaint would be its very hard to get a loaner.

GCj and WJ are a no-go for me, personally I would rather construct a vehicle by hand then deal with WJ ever again. I went to STAR in queens because it is a 10 minute drive, and it worked out for me in the end with some hard negotiation, but still I would not go back.

Have you had any major issues with your Jeep that they had to tackle? Or all minor stuff -- and as far as a loaner, did you buy the car there?

Just wondering. Not to hijack the thread, but I'm looking for a good service department. I can deal with a bad "buyer" experience, but not a bad service dept.
