Looking at a 14. Advice on the offer

I'm looking to trade my 11 Laredo X for a new 14 Laredo. The dealer I bought my 11 from has located the exact Jeep I built online. I built a Laredo with 18 inch wheel/8.4an, security/convenience, trailer group, and single pane sunroof. In black forest pearl. MSRP is 38,080, invoice is 36,400. Ive negotiated it to 35,500. Wondering what those of you who have bought 14s think about this deal and if there's maybe more room for the dealer to move?

Re: Looking at a 14. Advice on the offer

MSRP on my limited Hemi was almost 45 something, I got it for $38,XXX back in May. I think you can do better than that. However, with all of the issues these WK2s are having, I would wait a year before they get resolved.

Re: Looking at a 14. Advice on the offer

Bumpinjeep, I respectfully not necessarily think that the MY14 WK2's are more "issue" prone than any other new vehicle. There are thousands of WK2's on the road. I read somewhere that over 15,000 were sold in July. A forum is a handy place for people with issues to come for advise. As to OP's question... depends on what they are giving you for trade in $.

Geez, $900 under invoice? I'd say you've got a great deal there. Buy it already!

FYI, you can't get an 8.4AN (only 8.4A) on a Laredo (E) as far as I know.

You can have Nav activated at the dealer. You could try to get them to throw that in. It won't have some features of the 8.4AN.

I think 8.4AN automatically gets a backup camera, which is nice to have.

You are 2.5 % below invoice.. That's a good deal. The 3% holdback would be $1100.

When I spoke to the sales person today he said it was an 8.4 with nav bit didn't specify if it was an a or an. I assumed an but you are correct, it could be an a that has had the nav activated

Re: Looking at a 14. Advice on the offer

Just remember that the 8.4a with the nav activated isn't the equivalent of the 8.4an.

Re: Looking at a 14. Advice on the offer

Two weeks ago I picked up my 2014 Overland with the Advance Tech Package for $1000 under invoice with no negotiation.

I emailed the dealer for the internet price. When I finally got back to check my email around 3 hours later, through multiple emails the price had gradually dropped to $1000 under invoice with as of yet no response from me.

I took the offer then negotiated the trade of my 2011 Ford Raptor.
