A few more Billet Silver pics from different angles.

This was the first of this Overland color combo at this dealer..lots of looks from other employees and customers walking the lot.

There was also a Jeep factory rep on site with a group of dealer employees in the lot, all around a 2014 Deep Cherry Red Ltd as she was doing a live tutorial/on site training session on the new JGCs. When I pulled around near them with the Billet Silver Overland, she approached me and asked if they can all take a closer look. Of course....;)

Congrats ravenclaw!

I've got the billet on order and think it looks awesome in some pictures I've seen and a bit washed out in others. Also I find the front end looks VERY silverish. I'm in Australia and managed to see a black LTD in Oahu recently which I thought looked much better in person than I could of imagined. Is this the case with the billet, does it look much better in person? I have started wavering a little and thinking of changing color.

By the way I think yours looks awesome! Are you able to get a photo in lower light(shade)?

Cheers.

Thanks!
Wife and I struggled with color selection at first..the "darks" were too dark, especially for here in AZ with lots of sunshine, heat and dust. Not fans of white, roads are flooded here with white vehicles...true blue was an option but already have a blue vehicle...walked the dealer lots and closely looked at BilletSilver on 2013 Wranglers and some Chrysler passenger cars in sun and shade...had dealer pull a Billet Silver next to last year's Bright Silver for comparison..bottom line, as you can see, Billet Silver won out.
Upon seeing it today, our choice was validated..yes, wife and I, think it looks much better in person.
Just my opinion, it's always good to re-think a choice as you are, but many times, at least in my case, first gut instinct is mostly correct.
I'll have more pics in the next day or two with interior pics (indigo) and exterior with lower light (shade).

Meanwhile, here's a couple of more under a shade tent at the dealer.

Couple more pics of my '14 Granite Overland:

I actually saw your car at CJD when they had it inside waiting for you to pick it up. Seeing it convinced me to get Granite over Max Steel - it's a damn fine looking rig.

BTW - is it weird that I sat in your car before you did? ;)

I've got to say, I think the front plate holder doesn't look so bad on the dark colored GCs. Glad I won't have to have one on my silver Jeep though.

still a bit too high, imo, but no alternative due to front design.
Also that particular dealer plate is mostly dark and blends in well..I remember years ago NJ had a canary yellow plate, (maybe still does), that would stand out on a dark vehicle and I think NY went back to some horrid orange-like color plate

I CANNOT STAND the requirement of a front license plate. I said this before. If I had lived in a state that required one, I don't think I would have ever owned a new car. It's now 2013, can we not find a better way of affixing a front plate than drilling four holes in the front bumper of a brand F*****G new car????????????? I feel like I am living in a bizarro world here.

Check this out. My idiot dealer, who is all about advertising and seemingly nothing else, actually drills holes in ALL of their vehicles to affix a front plate in a state that DOES NOT REQUIRE FRONT PLATES. They do it for advertising purposes only. Needless to say, when I went to the dealership to look at a 2014 Granite GC Overland (precisely how I would have ordered it from the factory), I almost threw up because right there in the front was the big fat license plate. I was apopletic. I told them "no deal" unitl they fixed the holes to my satisfaction at no charge (which they did). I still don't like the fact that I have a brand new car with body work done to it but I was impatient and didn't want to wait (to either order or hope for another one to appear at another dealership precisely the way I wanted it). After I took it for a test drive, I wanted it right then.

My billet pics are on the Member rides-showoff thread also.

Actually, when seen in the flesh, the billet silver is much different than the bright silver.

Took a quick pic of my Granite Limited on the way to work...will try for some better photos in different lighting when time and weather permits.

This was taken in bright sun, clear sky.

Guys, I have looked thru this thread and have changed my color option. I had mentioned to Raven in another thread (being in AZ) that I loved the silver but want the summit. I have white ordered and then saw this thread. Randomly checked inventory at my dealership and sure enough they had 2 Granite summits. Raced down to see it and within 30 seconds, made the change from white/brown to granite/brown. So, thanks to you all. haha. Now the painful 45-60 day wait....

It's definitely worth waiting for the granite - it looks so good! I was stuck on white for a couple months there and switched to granite almost last-minute. So glad I did. This color rocks and looks amazing on the Grand Cherokee.

Stopped by the dealer today (wishful thinking, eh...) and got some nice shots of hardware on the lot... still not mine, sigh... these were all taken on the same dealer lot, with the same iphone, within 5 minutes of each other, in mostly-direct sun. Billet is not one singular color, and most of these are so new they still have plastic on the sidebars/seats/etc. :D

I did see Billet in person today. Actually parked next to it ;-). I have to say it actually looked VERY NICE. Already own Black (and love it as well) but If I had a chance to see Billet in person that would probably be on top of my list.

Nice Roki303,

It's great to hear an independent review, especially since you already have black. Black was going to be my first choice, but we all know black only looks good for a couple of days after washing it and my current jeep is black, so I'm looking for a change. Billet became my first choice because it shows up less dirt.

Living in Oz the 14' GC hasn't made it down here yet and I managed to get a look at a 14 in Oahu on a work trip, unfortunately they only had one black but I thought it looked awesome in person. I was getting a little worried that the billet wasn't as good but you have put my worries to rest. Thank you for your review!

Couple of photos but I don't think photos make the justice. This is also coming from a person who liked Mineral Gray on 2011 - 2013.

Is it just me or does the rear door on the billet jeep look like it's not closed all the way or out of alignment or something. A few people have complained about that on this board. I'm hoping mine doesn't look like that.

We have gone back and forth between Black and Billet. I think we thought we would like Billet when we saw it in person but that wasn't the case. We didn't care for how much the color changed depending on the light. We felt it almost had a hue of purple on cloudy days. Would love to go lighter color due to concerns on how dirty black gets so quickly but it just looks SO good when clean. Honestly this palate of colors provided by Jeep doesn't leave us with many options ... of course that's personal preference.
