Re: Looking for pics of the billet and granite

Thank you for linking that ... I agree with you. Too much silver overall and looks better with the dark lower trim. I would like to go with Overland but the mrs is starting to like Billet Silver so maybe Limited w/Lux II will be the way we'll go?

Re: Looking for pics of the billet and granite

I agree, seems to be just a wash of silver and chrome. I think I am leaning back towards maximum steele. It gives more a of a contrast to the chrome bits.

Re: Looking for pics of the billet and granite

Billet Silver, is also good option for those, (like me) who want to mute the effect of the overdone hideous chrome mirrors, wheels, accents.
All a matter of taste and personal preference..one of the reasons I went Overland was to avoid the black trim and the full color look, imo, is visually less "cluttered", thus sleeker and cleaner. Zen.

I feel the same. Looks like you should be posting some real-life pics soon! Good luck on your ETA.

Re: Looking for pics of the billet and granite

The source material sucks (and so do my MS-Paint skillz), but here's a quick-and-dirty de-chromified concept... I left the tow hooks shiny because, well, they're awesome.

I can already see my Plasti-Dip budget quickly spiraling out of control.

AutoTrader.com

This dealer is right next to me... If anybody is serious about the matter I can go down and take some real pictures. Of course that assumes I don't walk away owning it

Re: Looking for pics of the billet and granite

The more I play with this, the more I think I like the idea of blacking-out that lower chrome piece... really makes the tow hooks stand out, and if this picture were from a better angle I bet it'd kinda "sporty-up" the front end a lot.

This, along with some other black trim pieces (GC lettering, handles, mirror caps, etc. like on the Trailhawk) I think would make a pretty clean ride.

I have been debating Black, Granite, and Billet myself. Once I saw billet I removed it from my list just too light for me. I was leaning towards granite but after visiting the lots a few times I think im going with black. It just looks so sharp on the overland.

However I have this odd thought that everyone who drives a nice black car with black interior seems to be the stuckup showoff type. Am I crazy lol?
