Re: Looking for recomendations for Extended Warranties

Agree, some HID bulbs get expensive but I have halogens and already upgraded to SilverStars. My GC is garaged and about once a month I wipe the clear lens surface down with protectant.

Also the most likely damage to a lens assembly with be covered by my collision or comprehensive insurance and not the Service Contract.

I considered a lot of things including the equipment on the GC and what tools I have around the shop before deciding. YMMV.

Re: Looking for recomendations for Extended Warranties

I ended up ordering through Zeigler, lots of positive experiences.
$2185 MaxCare Lifetime, $100 deductible.

Re: Looking for recomendations for Extended Warranties

I believe the price will jump again next month. So if you are considering a service contract now is the time to pull the trigger.

Re: Looking for recomendations for Extended Warranties

Is it true that the lifetime warranty (service contract) won't be offered for the diesel?

Even if you can do that, you're still going to be paying that money in the loan...

What difference does it make. He'd get the cash back and reuse it to buy the warranty again.

He'll be in the same position he is now with either more warranty or the same warranty with a little more cash in his pocket.

This assumes he can, and I have no idea if he can.

The way the dealers do this really sours the whole otherwise good experience.

Even though I refused what sounded like a great deal (and wasn't) I'm pissed they attempted it and I was stressed that I passed on it at the time, wife was too. Glad I did.

Re: Looking for recomendations for Extended Warranties

mswlogo, I agree with you, but felt a need to mention that whatever transpires will have no effect on his loan. Sometimes folks forget that once a loan is closed, it is what it is...

Not entirely true. His payments won't be affected, but he could put the difference back into the loan against the principle amount as a payment if he so desired.
