Re: Looking for recomendations for Extended Warranties

I'm not talking down to, or dissing anyone here, but from this, and other warranty threads, I'm seeing a lot of warranty (service contract) regret that could have been avoided by doing a little due diligence up front. Once you have the information, which is readily available on this forum, and elsewhere on the internet, it's a pretty straight forward process to get a good deal on a contract. I post this just to help folks reading this thread in anticipation of purchasing a service contract.

Re: Looking for recomendations for Extended Warranties

I am new here and been reading up for the last couple days. I should be picking up my '14 Overland in the next couple days, waiting for it to show up at the dealer tracking shows it shipped last Thursday.

I am doing a quote for the maxcare at Zeigler's and went to add the tire and wheel package. And there is a promo code box. Does anybody have a promo code? Wanting to print the quote so I can take it with me to the dealer.

They are a Chrysler dealer. More correctly a fairly large group of dealers.

There have been people that have initially gone with the max care package and rolled into their loan then woke up tue next day and changed their minds. It's a simple call to the finance guy and the max care is stopped and he sends the bank some paperwork as you get whatever you paid for it back in a check from Chrysler. You can then cash it do what you wish. If that means going to another dealer because they have a better price so be it, spend your money wisely because if you don't find the deals believe me your initial finance guy won't either because he wants as much cash as possible.

Re: Looking for recomendations for Extended Warranties

From what I read on zeiglers website it is basically road hazard for the tires and wheels. For $245 it covers the wheels and tires for 5 years unlimited miles. I checked with my local tire shop that I use and they are $48 per tire for road hazard and that only covers the tires

Re: Looking for recomendations for Extended Warranties

I just signed up with Zeigler for Lifetime Contract for $2,185 for 100 deductible on 2014 Overland. My dealer wanted $2,850 and would not budge, if I hadn't found this site I would be $665.00 poorer, so thank you for this forum and thread

Guy at Zeilgler was great to work with. I couldn't be happier, new JGC and lifetime warranty This is a no brainer combo for those like me that keep their vehicles a long time.

I did this. The finance guy hit me hard with the warranty pitch and I bit. I had thought that he was talking about the Crysler warranty but it turned out to be from a third party. I had him cancel it when I went to pick up my car. The way he acted, you'd think that I had just killed his favorite dog. They credited my loan for the amount, but my payments stay the same. This just means that my loan will be paid off a little sooner.

Yeah hart the same thing happened with me,alotta fast talk in the finance guys office as he found that I had a check in my back pocket from another bank and he beat that percentage rate with a few banks they deal with so i wound up with 1.3%. I bit on the warranty got home and knew I signed the extended warranty papers too fast and called him first thing in the morning and had to hear the b.s. convo about how much my overland costs and what am I going to do if something goes wrong?? I let him get it all off his chest and toldem to cancel it..well his demeanor changed to very short answers and wasn't the warm fuzzy person he showed himself to be the previous day. The check from Chrysler came to
me in the mail for what i paid for the max care warranty which was about 2600. Now I'm just looking for a great price on the warranty and I'm ready to roll. I might just do what I've done on my other vehicles and wait till the 3/36 is about to expire and then shop a few dealers against each other and see how that works. I just saw chrysler is giving 0% on all new grand Cherokees!! Wtf?? Lol.
