From what I read here, it does. But again, that's my interpretation.

Re: Looking for recomendations for Extended Warranties

I see that with a $100 deductible, I can get 8 years/120,000 miles for:

MAXIMUM CARE
8 YEARS/120,000 MILES
WM8120N
$100.00
Plan Overview
$2,000.00

That sound pretty reasonable?

Anyone know if there are any restrictions for the GC's air suspension on the back where it says "see reverse for details"? I know some past contracts I've had it won't cover expensive air suspension.

Also, the road hazard tire and wheel, does that cover up to 4 total wheel and tire replacements over the life of the contract?

Max care shouldn't have any mileage limitations.

Re: Looking for recomendations for Extended Warranties

These are extended service contracts, not extended "warranties"...that language could affect rights.

MaxCare is about what's covered, not how long. MaxCare Lifetime, I believe, doesn't have mileage limit.

  • $2000 is a good price.
  • No idea about the road hazard service contract, but it doesn't list any qualifiers so my thought is that there is no limit.

Personally, I'm debating getting 7y/100K or Lifetime. I was thinking about getting 8y/120K but there is a big jump in cost between 7y and 8y.

For example:

WM7100N $1625 / 7 = $232/y (transferable)
MWM7100N $1790 / 7 = $256/y (transferable, money back guarantee)
WM8120N $2000 / 8 = $250/y (transferable)
LWM100N $2185 / 10 = $219/y (not transferable, lifetime)

The difference is that the 7y and 8y are transferable and the Lifetime isn't (except in Florida and another state). There is also the 7y money back, which Chrysler Factory Plans doesn't list. If you do not use the warranty you can get your money back at the end of the term.

I kept my Murano for 10y/155K so I'm leaning towards the Lifetime. The Murano started needing a number of repairs just after it's 8th year. I'm suspecting that most modern cars are the same. I'm guessing that's why there is such a big jump between the 7y and 8y warranty prices.

Re: Looking for recomendations for Extended Warranties

Ya, it really comes down to whether you will keep the vehicle for a very long time or not.

If there is a chance you could sell it 7-years or sooner, that could be quite valuable for a purchaser and make your vehicle worth more. Makes them all warm and fuzzy.

Re: Looking for recomendations for Extended Warranties

I just purchased the 7 years / 60,000 mile package from Bob Cline at Harold Zeigler Automotive Group. This was for my 2011 JGC Overland 4x4. Cost was $1035 and I didn't have to pay tax.

Prior to paying I took the offer to my local dealer who offered to match it but stated I would still have to pay tax on it. They also stated there were many other options available. More than the ones offered by the website.

The reason I went with the 7/60k was I don't drive very many miles a year and I know within the next 4 years that I'm going to want to buy a new vehicle. I really only purchased this to cover my butt on with the quadralift suspension. It will also make the vehicle MUCH easier to sell.

Make sure to check if the contract is transferable. I believe there are only a couple states where it can be, I may be wrong. It's been discussed on other threads before.

Re: Looking for recomendations for Extended Warranties

A: In most, but not all, cases remaining coverage may be transferred to a second owner of the vehicle at the time of vehicle sale. A $50 option transfer fee will be applied (in most states). Lifetime coverage is not transferable unless required by state law. Your personalized plan provisions describe the transfer rules applicable to your plan and the transfer fee in your state.

A factory warranty transfer fee may also apply. To transfer the Powertrain Limited Warranty, you must have an authorized Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep® dealer process a Transfer of Coverage Application for you. The cost for this service is $150 payable to the dealer. You must apply for this transfer within 30 days from the date you buy the vehicle from the previous owner.

Just as a gauge I got the maximum care unlimited miles and unlimited years $100 deductible for $2100 from my dealer. pit your online price against your local dealer. maybe start at $2000 for the unlimited/unlimited/100 and negotiate from there. Just my opinion but $2000 for unlimited/unlimited/100 is a very good price if you could get them down to that.

I typically don't buy or believe in the extended contracts but this was to good of an offer to pass up IF you keep your jeep for a long time. think how much a busted uconnect or air lift or whatever will hit you with 5 years from now, I think this thing will pay for itself real fast when he jeep starts getting up there in the age and miles.

When I bought mine dealer told me the maximum care was more about listing what wasn't covered vs. what is covered as most all mechanical and electrical is covered.

One other good thing which I didn't realize at the time I bought is that it covers a rental car for a period of time when you have your jeep in for work. as most jeep dealers don't do loaners it is nice to have the rental as I don't have a second car. making use of it next week when my jeep goes in for a day or two for some fix up items

So even if you drop it off for the day now, under standard warranty repair. They immediately have to give you a rental?
