Looking to buy a GC Altitude in a couple days

The quote I got from talking to a sales rep today was $38,500 out the door. The MSRP on the window was $38,800. He also showed me the invoice price, which was $37,000. I guess my question is what do you guys think about the price? I've only been to one dealership so far, but if this is as good as it's going to get I might jump on it very soon. Any input greatly appreciated, thanks everyone.

Re: Looking to buy a GC Altitude in a couple days

What is the price before taxes?

What rebates and amount are available to you?

You should shoot for 5% below invoice minus rebates plus taxes.

So 37,000 x .95 = 35,150

35,150 - rebates = y

Then say your state tax is 7% then
y x 1.07 = total

Looking to buy a GC Altitude in a couple days

Does it have any options? Like the tow package, Alpine audio/backup camera? Im assuming not.

Least you'll get the SRT tails/bezels and silver dash trim.

Re: Looking to buy a GC Altitude in a couple days

I have never priced out an Altitude model so hopefully my information isn't misleading, but that price just seems so high considering that if you do enough research and work you can get an Overland not too far off from that price.
Just did a quick search on my cars.com app and see brand new 2015 Overland V6 4x4 models advertised at $39,440 before taxes and fees.

Re: Looking to buy a GC Altitude in a couple days

Just as a reference point for you, I got a 2015 Overland with Advanced tech package for 39k plus TTL.

That altitude price seems real high considering for 1k more you can get ACC, Blind spot, parking sensors, cooled front seats, LED DRL, Panoramic Sunroof, etc.

Re: Looking to buy a GC Altitude in a couple days

^^^ my point exactly. I'm glad you stepped in because I specifically remember you getting an amazing deal on that Overland. The Altitude is great, but the Overland offers so much more. I just couldn't imagine spending that much on a Laredo with the deals available on the higher end models.

Re: Looking to buy a GC Altitude in a couple days

Just think of the deal you can get on an Altitude if people are buying Overlands at that price.

Completely agree. If the Overland isnt your style and you like the way the Altitude looks, then use this information to get an insane deal on one. Like others have posted, getting 5% below invoice shouldnt be an issue. That should be coupled with any other incentives, rebates, or certificates you may come across.

The MSRP on my vehicle was right around 48k. If I can get down to 39k then you are definitely able to get them more than 1k off sticker. If you want to know exactly how I got my deal send me a PM and ill be happy to help

Re: Looking to buy a GC Altitude in a couple days

My purchase is another example of how much you can get off MSRP. My 2014 Summit V8 MSRP was something like $55,850, my negotiated price was $47,000+ttl

Re: Looking to buy a GC Altitude in a couple days

The sticker on my 2015 altitude was 41,680 and I had every option you can get I think. The only thing that wasn't on there was engine block heater and 595 for the nav upgrade. The altitude 's you have to upgrade the nav.
