A 4.5 liter diesel engine? I'll believe that when I see it.

I'm guessing you had a 4.1 to 1 rear with no overdrive. I had a full size Ford back in the day with a slush box tranny and consistently got 18mpg. It had a 2.73 rear axle.

Ford isn't targeting Jeep with this concept, they are targeting those who miss the old classic Bronco before it went huge then shat out the Bronco II. I can see a niche market for such a vehicle.

Jeep should do the same and bring back a version of their classic pick-up. They'd sell a lot of them.

And yes, Ford's Coyote is a far better engine than ChyCo's "hemi".

Looks more to me like they are targeting the Hummer or the G-wagen.

I'd love to see Ford resurrect the Bronco as a real SUV, now that the Explorer has been pretty much neutered into a chopped off minivan. The more real SUVs out there, the better In My Non Humble Opinion.

You don't have to hate Jeep to be aware that at one time, Ford actually had some real SUVs in their stable and has some pretty good engines available as well.

Its not like this is Broncos vs Chargers or something.

Next we need International to resurrect the Scout.

I'd personally love to see a Baja featuring NEW models of the Grand Cherokee, Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited, International Scout, Chevrolet Blazer, Ford Bronco, etc, literally banging it out head to head. Would improve all of them.

Nice to something besides crossovers and X5 wannabes from Ford and others. That means someone has been doing some market research and found folks still need and want a vehicle that can go off road. Ford obviously found out that when they came out with the current Explorer it left a hole in their vehicle line and that folks still want vehicles that can go off road.
Twin plug technology is not '50s technology. If you were to use this internet you keep flapping your google gums about, you'd know it was at least 20 years older than that in production vehicles from Nash, and probably even before that.

Wonder if this is in the design pipeline in order to go after Cherokee or Grand Cherokee? It's no secret that the Grand Cherokee, along with Ram pickup, is responsible for current Chrysler profitability...GC is said to be Chrysler's most profitable vehicle.
Ford seems to be pushing the mucking fustang lately...

But, I really would like more true off-road vehicles out there.
There simply 'hain't that many left and that's a really sad thing for the world
In My Non Humble Opinion.

Well, if ya don't like Sebring, how about Nurburgring? Rumor is a street rod version of the GC does pretty well there. Heck, if they'd quit pussy footing around and would put the OR-II package on it and call it the SRTrail, I'd trade my 5.7 '14 on one.

The newer ones with fancy after-run cooldown pumps to keep the turbos from coking up, variable pitch or multi-stage to get rid of turbo lag just take all the fun out of braking techniques and thinking ahead whilst driving.

I for one, wouldn't turn down a free 'charger kit for the 5.7 if there's one burning holes in someone's pocket.
