made it back from a 2500 mile trip, appox 22 mpg.

Went from Wilmington NC to Bar Harbor ME.

I was stoked on the Hemi fuel mileage. Going north I calculated 21.75 mpg. EVIC was spot on reporting 21.7. On the way back I got 22 mpg, EVIC was pretty accurate again and said 21.9 mpg. Used 89 octane fwiw.

I used highway 17 and 13 all the way up the Delmarva Peninsula to the Delaware Memorial bridge. I don't do I-95 through Washington and NoVa anymore. Then it was Interstates all the way to Maine.

Best trip mileage I've seen to date.

Re: made it back from a 2500 mile trip, appox 22 mpg.

1200 miles of interstates, no more than 3 mpg over the limit. Lots of 58 and 68mph miles with the cruise control.

1000 miles of secondary highways, 55-65mph with a town with stop lights or 45mph zone every 20 miles or so. Did not speed on these roads.

Did not factor in the mileage noodling around Maine.

Well, of course you did better going back. Look at a map, it's all down hill.
That is pretty darn good MPG with 5.7

If you go the speed limit you can get 22-23 EASY with the Hemi, I go about 10 over and get a solid 21-21.5 highway consistantly, much better than the 17 i'd get with the old Hemi!

Re: made it back from a 2500 mile trip, appox 22 mpg.

The secret to getting the best economy with the Hemi is by using the cruise and not trying to be the fastest vehicle on the road. I have seen 24.5mpg pure interstate several times and can count on 20-21mpg at 75mph with relatively gentle hills; 65mph gets me to 23mpg easily. A trip to Florida for business carrying ~1000lbs of custom tooling to/from yielded 19.7mpg overall for the entire 2900 mile round trip which included many non-interstate excursions. My EVIC is within +/-.2mpg of manual calculations.

Yup. I see 21-22 easily at mid to upper 70's with cruise (a/c on). Thats hard to beat with almost 400hp and 5000lbs.

Nice results AndyH. Guess I gotta lay off the throttle a bit.

FWIW, I grew up partying in Delmarva from DC. Good times.

Sheesh, must be easy being in the states... here on the autobahn, it's practically illegal to go so slow as to be good on gas... I'm seeing about 17MPGs @ 90-100 MPH...

My last vehicle was a Tundra 5.7. It got "14" ... City, Highway, Idleing... No matter what... "14" mpg. period... Blew my mind... So, yes, 22mpg is worth bragging about..
