That's why I have yet to understand why people get so excited with D1 status.

E,F,G,I,J and KZ are the big ones.

Welcome, Anthony. You and my lil brother share a name. Cool.

Re: Made the move! Hi, I'm Anthony aka The New Guy

Congrats on the new ride. To piggy back....I will be placing the order for my 2014 Limited 4x4 tomorrow morning (3/8). I am thinking about signing up for the Milous tracking but given you stated his inbox is full I am wondering if he will be able to track the order. I just want to make sure the $25 bucks is worth it. At a minimum though, I will be signing up for the premium membership soon.

[QUOTE=PhillyAnt;987946]Looking at the sheet that my dealer printed out for me, this vehicle was ordered on February 18th. Does it usually take this long to get production started?

There are a lot of variables that determine the production schedule. It appears that most vehicles are moving. I have recently reviewed many vehicles schedules (because mine is one of the slow ones) and it looks like 6 to 8 week delivery is about average. Do not get overly anxious, it will arrive, and hopefully you will enjoy it for years.

My biggest concern is my current lease. I just had to extend it one month. I can extend it one more month. I just hope I don't have to because I wouldn't be too happy if I made that payment and then found out my jeep is ready right after. I don't want to throw away that extra cash.

He will. I posted a comment with my info instead of the private message and he responded a few minutes later.

It wasn't entirely clear from your post.....had your dealer placed the order as a "dealer order" before you decided to order one and it just coincidentally matched what you wanted??? In other words, did your dealer order your Jeep for you from the get go....that is as a "Sold Order" versus a "Dealer Order"? Sold orders get build priority "1" while Dealer Orders (for stock) get build priority "4" on most occasions.

As an example, I contacted Koons on 2/15 about what I was interested in (but told them I only wanted a quote and was not yet ready to order)....they must have liked my configuration as they then ordered 3 of them as a dealer order...yes, actually ordered, not a "pending order". About two weeks later, I pulled the trigger for my order which was officially placed on 2/27 as a new "sold order" (in addition to the first dealer order on 2/15). I have the printouts for both of these orders. My order on 2/27....even though ordered 12 days after the dealer order for the EXACT same configuration...went to D1 status BEFORE the 2/15 orders (I don't know if the 2/15 order is even in D1 status yet, but it wasn't a few days ago). My order on 2/27 was entered as a "sold order" build priority "1" so it did indeed leapfrog the other orders....which is nice to know. From order date to expected dealer delivery is 4.5 weeks (wow fast...couldn't be happier).

My 2011 summit took 11 weeks because my dealer didn't change it from pending right away for whatever reason it wasn't a good order ready for scheduling yet (there can be several reasons why such as dealer allocation, order banks open, etc.) and the Summits were just starting production. That was a long 11 weeks......4.5 weeks is a cakewalk in comparison!

Anyway....sorry about my long reply as I have been learning all about the ordering and production process. Congrats....you're gonna love it! Also, if that is you in the photo....congrats on your accomplishment too!

I apologize for not being clear enough. Yes, originally it was a dealer order. Here is how it happened. This dealer had the best price but did not have exactly what I wanted. I was doing some searching and I located the vehicle I wanted at 2 other dealers that were a little bit of a distance away. I told my dealer to contact them and let me know how long it would take to get them transferred. I also told him to make sure they did not have the front license plate brackets installed. Being that they were out of state, it was a concern for me because I know a few of the other states require them. He called and found out that they already had them installed. POOP! He called me back a few minutes later and told me he had exactly what I wanted coming in soon. Yay! It was originally ordered on February 18th as a dealer order. I went in and put the down payment on it on March 4th. He said he was going to make a phone call and put a priority on my build. I guess I should check with him to see if he did that. Right now I see 3 things on my printout that might have the info I need. They are:

Status: D - Firm schedule:serial number is assigned
Scheduling Priority: 1-Sold Order
Build Priority: 99

Not sure what that means. Do you know? I am going to make every effort I can to find out ASAP. I really don't want to have to make another payment on my lease.

And yes, that is me in the picture Weight has always been an issue for me. In August of 2010 I weighed 372 pounds. Less than a year later I lost 140 pounds and 145 inches and my life was changed forever. I won 1st place in a national weight loss competition and since January of 2012 I have helped hundreds of people change their health too. Thank you for the kind words. It really does feel amazing. I never thought I would fit in regular people sized clothes. Life is good!

OK - based on what I have all learned and this should be accurate. You are not yet (as of the printout) in "Pre-Release" or the next "D1" status of scheduled to be built and sequenced in the production queue. In other words, you're not up to bat but you are on the bench in uniform. However, once in Pre-Release you'll get to D1 very soon. You might already be in D1. The 1-Sold Order means it was changed from the dealer order which is good. Not sure what the build priority 99 means......my order sheet says "01" not "99". You might wanna call your dealer on the "99" if you're not in Pre-Release or D1 status yet (Milous will know and so will the Jeep phone people). It is kinda fun to learn about all this...makes the wait more fun.

Excellent....that is totally amazing weight loss. Congrats again!

By the way....I too don't want that front license plate bracket installed. I'll be contacting the dealer everyday once it is on railcar as a reminder and may even FedEx them "don't install front license plate bracket" flyers with tape to tape it to the front bumper as it comes off the truck!!! LOL

Re: Made the move! Hi, I'm Anthony aka The New Guy

Dan, depending on the date you placed your order, the dealer may not actually been able to enter it into the system until days or weeks later based on "allocation". There is a date each month that "order banks" open up.
