It is an online quote and USAA is the company. That is with $0 deductible on comp. and $50 deductible coll.

I would assume they either mean the 2012 SRT8 or they just have the same set of models each year.

Wow I would definitely look for another insurance company. More power doesn't mean greater risk.

Re: Man am I glad I ordered the Hemi!

Silly thread. A little too much chest-pounding IMHO, at the expense of people who have used their best judgement to get the vehicle that is right for their use. The 6 absolutely has a place and is very competent. I drove the 6 and damn near bought it. In the end it would've probably been enough. It would certainly be enough for my wife who will mostly drive it and could care less about what powers it, but I thought it would be nice to tow the GTO to events as well as my utility trailer...who knows maybe an RV now and again too. If you're not towing something heavy, you should be more than fine with the V6.

HEMI or Bust!

Let's get the facts straight. It's a $31K+ vehicle and the base Laredo engine can't be upgraded per Jeep's Build My Own website. The HEMI upgrade is $1.5K starting with the Laredo X Package and goes up to $2K when you reach the Overland trim.

Personally, I wouldn't want a base 2WD model since there are station wagons that would be a better choice. They may not look as nice as the Jeep Grand Cherokee but they would be cheaper, lighter and better on fuel economy. A Subaru Outback 2.5i would only set you back about $25K with 22/29 MPG. Too bad the Magnum isn't around any more. That would have been the manly station wagon to go with.

What gets me is Jeep's mindset. Many other cars upgrade the engine automatically as you go up to higher trims. But, not even with the "all mighty" Summit (too bad there isn't another interior color choice and I didn't care about a "smart" cruise control) you still get the V6. What message are they sending with this?

There's an SRT for that...

Well I see what your saying even though I totally disagree. I think thats great that they are allowing people to choose which engine they want in all trim levels. In the previous generation we didnt have that option it was V8 only with Overland. As far as the adaptive a/c, well your missin out because that feature is downright badass!!

I agree. That alone proves that the V6 is a worthy engine regardless of trim level.

BTW - I have the hemi, I am just pointing out what MOST V6 owners already know - Its a great engine.

I would not trust it, the car is not out yet and they have no idea.

Anyway all insurance companies base their rates on stats. If the data points to more HP = more claims the rate will be higher.
