Map settings question about Map appearance 8.4AN (Possibly 8.4A also)

Can somebody describe this feature? Under "Map Appearance" it gives you the option of choosing betwen Jeep, Fiat, Chrysler, etc. and it appears to change the traffic colors on the map. For example - choosing "Chrysler" changes the trafffic colors for slow traffic from red to Orange as you can see from the images I attached. If traffic is slow, why would I wanna change it from say red to blue?? Wouldn't I want slow traffic to display red, moderate traffic to yellow and no traffic to green? If I choose Fiat it appears to revert back to those colors. This option makes really no sense to me....

It's nothing more than subliminal ad placement. By going into settings, you "discover" the other models in the FCA family.

But what does that have to do with changing the colors for traffic? Wouldn't it be confusing to change the color of steady flow of traffic from green to say, blue?? I'm glad I figured this out because driving around with traffic colors that were different from the norm was driving me crazy!!!

I was kind of wondering the same thing...this option is baffling. A couple of the choices also seem to have identical colors?

So glad I'm not the only one! Yes, some have the same colors and this makes no sense. I've been pulling my hair out since I got this thing having to distinugish between these stupid traffic colors. Since I changed it to Fiat all is much better now.

I must be really stupid because I've never seen traffic on my Map with 8.4AN on either 2014 limited or 2015 overland.

I have mine currently set to "JEEP" but also don't understand the "differences" between the selections.

Wouldn't changing slow traffic color coding from red to orange be an implication that Chrysler drivers drive slower than Jeep drivers?

My guess is - bug. That should be in manufacturer menu not in consumer.

Thankfully, neither do I. But I do have a 3 year old map database
