Are there underbody only washes? Don't want anything touching the body of the jeep its been so long since I've been in an auto or touchless wash.
Touchless only for me!
The new ones don't get all the dirt off, but do get most of the salt off.

Still needs a good hand wash in the spring.

Re: Mastershield Rust proofing / undercoating through dealer?

It amazes me that dealers still offer these garbage/fleece products. Went to a jeep dealer the other day and on the dealer added sticker they have a $1200 "blue steel paint protection". Really, it's called wax and it's a $50-$80 job to apply wax to a car.

All of these products are nothing but profit for the dealer - they offer no added value to your car. Whatever this rustproofing/undercoating is would be applied by some tech who would likely plug up drain holes, etc. I'm quite sure whatever benefit it would provide would wash off within weeks.

Strictly dealer profit that allows them to make more money off you after you have agreed on the price of the car. Stay far away!

^^^

People on the forum are much more informed then the average vehicle buyer, unfortunately. Hence dealerships take advantage with things like $1200 priced "blue steel paint protection". It is called price anchoring and something they can negotiate off of in order to make you think you are getting a good price even when you aren't. A $47,000 vehicle with $2,500 bogus dealership tacked on makes it $49,500 so they can knock off $2,500 and still be at MSRP. There are two Jeep dealerships that do that sort of thing near me....$400 nitro fill with green valve caps and $1,000 window VIN etching sort of stuff... All total nonsense. But it must work on enough people or they wouldn't do it.

Thanks all. Will pass on this after these comments.

Can put the $ towards more warranty as I'm right on the verge of going over in kms yearly with the one I originally wanted. At least that I know I'll get money out of it

I would NEVER waste my money on any of these dealer profit products...especially any type of undercoating protection. I've heard too many horror stories about drain holes getting plugged up or vibrations occurring from the overspray on wheels & driveshafts.

Anyone know any information on these products and whether its worth going with? Price isn't too bad but not sure how it compares to Krown etc.

Thanks again
Google MasterShield vs Krown, as they are two ends of the spectrum.

NO dealer rust proofing is worth the price, and some dealers even refuse to offer it, rather they would recommend good aftermarket installers for Ziebart, Krown, etc. should you want to add aftermarket.

I dunno about Canada, but you can upgrade warranties in the states as long as you do it before a pretty goodly number of miles has passed [36K here].
Surprisingly cheap to go clear to the lifetime.
Ask the service writers/manager, they were able to give me an answer in just a few minutes.

I was quoted an extended warranty ( Canada ) just short before the end of the factory one. So, I guess you can ''upgrade'' at any time....I'm sure they charge more depending on the mileage and time left tho...

Exactly. Quite a bit more to purchase after it leaves the lot as far as I know.

Perhaps in Canada, but not in the US. As long as you purchase in the first 12 months it's the same for the MOPAR plans (why get anything else?)

Price shop online and save a lot of money.

The main thing to remember is that an "n year" plan is a misnomer. It's n years after original date of purchase of *the vehicle*, not how long the plan is in force. So, it's not warranty + n years of extension. It's "n years - warranty length". Ergo, a 7 year plan is only 4 years past the 3 year warranty. Same deal applies to the mileage limits.
