I wound up with Max Care 5/60 $0.00 deductible for $885. He showed me how once he put my vin in all sorts of options.

Point is, don't overlook your local dealer.

Holden in Dover, De

FYI-that's the same DE as in my user name.

My user name used to be Bill_NY, and I rooted for the Yankees .. Hint, Hint.

Ha, funny I used to live in NY and now I live in Newark, DE. I'll have to check them out, would you recommend their service department? I would drive to get better service for sure?

Since I was last there (I've been in a Ford for 2 years) they have a new service manager, so I can't really say. They did always have appointments within a few days. They always did things while I waited, and that included many of the firmware updates and recalls.

As I told the sales manager today, the Summit comes with 2 oil changes a year for 2 years, I hope I don't see you any more often than that.

Mine "came with" 3 oil changes. I asked the approximate value of that, and she told me she didn't know. So I asked her to please check with the Service Dept. She did so somewhat reluctantly, and came back and told me "around $150.00". I told her I wasn't interested, and to just knock $150.00 off the total.

After a lot of back and forth, (most of which was her and some guy from the Service Dept. who followed her back into the room), they told me they couldn't do it, "because of the paperwork involved". I came back with $100.00 off, and just forget the "paperwork". I then asked them if they really wanted to tank a cash deal on a new vehicle sitting on their lot, for a lousy $100 bucks? They finally agreed.

This is just another in a long list of why I hate new car shopping. They think you're dumb enough to believe any of this kind of crap is "free". Just like BMW and all of their "free maintenance" for 3 years, or whatever. You're paying for every cent of it. No matter if you want to believe it or not. And you're not getting any bargain doing it.

Re: Maxcare opinions

I am headed to the stealership now with Zeigler quotes in hand. Pretty much only need to ask them one question: Will you match these prices or not?
Yes) I buy
No) Bye bye

Side note:
That 100 deductible, Is that every time I bring the truck in for them to look at an issue? So for EX , if I bring the truck in saying its doing something odd and they don't find an issue do I still pay $100?

The dealer can't trade away the 2 years of maintenance that comes with the Summit. It comes from Chrysler and includes oil change, tire rotations and one day loaner/rental if you don't want to wait.

How much below invoice did you settle on?

Re: Maxcare opinions

What about Koons? Are those of you who are getting your vehicles there still going to Zeigler for the warranty?

Someone recently posted that Koons matched the Zeigler quote...so having one in-hand is a good idea.

When did they start that? Mine was a, "dealer deal". Then again, mine's a Limited.
