Now you're being completely void of any and all common sense. 3 oil changes for a 5.7 HEMI V-8 consist of 21 quarts of full synthetic oil, and 3 oil filters. Not to mention the labor cost involved in doing them. The dealers pay for all of that the same way I, or anyone else does. It's not free. They didn't "eat" the $100.00 they gave me. They simply knocked it off the price of the car because I didn't want it, and refused to pay for it. In the end I got no oil, and they had to pay for no oil. What did they "eat"?

Enjoy your hard earned $100.00
You are not worth the time to explain it any further.

That's all for the best. Seeing as your explanations are no better than your "guarantees".

Re: Maxcare opinions

Ok, enough, please. Nobody is changing anyone's mind and continued "discussion" of the oil changes is non-productive and has nothing to do with the Maxcare topic of this thread. Let's move on, please...

I hadn't heard Etching in forever either, so I googled it and found a few discussions on other forums. Here is the quote of the day for me:

Quote:
"I've handled auto claims for about 20 years now and never heard of window etching helping recover a vehicle. I've worked for a carrier that offered it at a reduced rate to employees but still, never heard of it helping. In my experience vehicles are either stolen for a joy ride (and then recovered), taken to a chop shop (and parts removed), or shipped overseas (never to be seen again) so I don't see how glass etching would help."
Haven't even seen it offered since the 80s anywhere I've shopped for a car.

Re: Maxcare opinions

They used to do it a lot on the old T Tops when they were getting stolen right and left. Don't think it made a dent in that either.

Re: Maxcare opinions

Getting back to Max Care
USA jeep owners are lucky there is a lifetime plan, we don't have such a thing

In Canada, Max Care is called Extended Care
I got Extended Care Plus
It boosts my 3/60 to 5/100 km to make it match the Powertrain 5/100 km
It's Plus because it comes with 13 oil changes and tire rotations included/ tire plan/ towing/rental.
I originally signed for for a whopping $3505 CDN but called to have it removed prior to picking up the vehicle. Manager offered a $500 price cut so I took it.
I believe for an extra $50 I could have gotten 7/140 km bumper to bumper. To me, I'll be out perhaps $1500 -$2000 if there are zilcho problems. I called two service shops at two dealers; I place charges $70 for the oil change/rotation/inspection but sometimes they will look at the brakes too which brings it up to $210 for service but I don't have the contract in my hand yet; I hope it's service and not just an oil change.

Other post from a Canadian in 2012....
"
I was told they did not deal on the price. 6 years/ 120,000 is $3245 and 7 years /115,000 ( yes it is less mileage) is $3455. Plus HST on both. After the first year thre prices go up."

The less mileage thing kills me

A guy at work told me to negotiate up to 7 yr and get oil done at own mechanic, I dunno

Re: Maxcare opinions

Does anyone know how long does it usually take for the life time warranty to show up in the Mopar Vehicle protection site after you purchase your car?

Within hours...as soon as the seller processes the transaction it should be there with the paper copy to you in a week or so, at least from Ziegler.

Re: Maxcare opinions

Hmm I bought mine from the dealership when I bought my car (this past Monday). They gave me a Mopar vehicle protection application form showing "Maxcare lifetime". When I check on the site it says:

Description JEEP 'BRAND SPECIFIC' OPTIONS
Expires on 2018-10-10 or 999999 miles
Start Date 2016-10-10
Deductible Per Repair $0.00
Towing Coverage $0.00
Rental Car Allowance $35.00 per day for a maximum of $35.00

I wonder if it takes longer to update because it was bought along with the car...they were price matching the quote I got from Ziegler and told me they had to "send that quote to Chrysler".

Same from my local dealer who was considerably less than Ziegler on a 5 year.
