Re: Maxcare opinions

How long is 'lifetime' maxcare realistically? It can't be forever...right?

Re: Maxcare opinions

I ended getting the Lifetime Max Care 0 deductible for $4235.

This was a no brainer for me... we are keeping this Jeep for a long time.

In comparison to my other vehicle (BMW) that charged me about 600 less for only 3 more years of platinum services @ $50 deductible

I feel it's money well spent.

Its effective until the cost of a repair is more than the book value of the vehicle at that point you are cut a check for the value of the vehicle and you keep the vehicle. It would terminate at that point. I paid $2100 for it on my 2014, if you keep vehicles a long time its a bargin.

Wow,that's a good 10-15 years in most cases I would guess. I plan on keeping mine 10-12 years when I pick one up later this year.

Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree, but here goes.....

The dealer shouldn't be influenced by who pays for the work. Your car breaks, you take it to get fixed. You have GEICO warranty, dealer says their waiting too long on the phone. You say, "Fix it, DOCUMENT IT, I'll submit the claim myself". You pay the bill up front, GEICO reimburses you, net cost is the same...........

Re: Maxcare opinions

I bought my JGC Limited, 5.7 , January of 08, it came with the lifetime powertrain warranty and after 10 months, i bought the bumper to bumper lifetime warranty for 1555. Ive had a few things go wrong, computer, heater, ac module, and door regulator go out,so I'm ahead of the game. This last weekend my trans stayed in 4th gear which is covered in the powertrain warranty with no deductible, my headlights were not leveling properly and they will fix them for $100. deductible, it has 183000 miles on it and it still runs like new and looks new except for a couple hail dings, no brainer on the warranty!!

Re: Maxcare opinions

....and since the powertrain warranty is now 5yr and down to 60k, from 100k, the extended service plans like MVP are a more compelling proposition for long-term owners...so far, FCA has not raised the MVP plans to account for the fact that the plans now cover powertrain beginning at 60.01k...

FWIW, the real financially prudent play for a long-termer, if u aren't a staunch new only type, is to buy a primo 14/15 still in the 36k bumper to bumper so you can get any issues and especially bump-to-bump only niggles like noises, trim, etc fixed... and then buy an MVP plan (from the known heavy discounters) prior to 4yr/48k but after you have confirmed it's the right "keeper" vehicle all things considered....

Re: Maxcare opinions

It seems like the best deals on max are around $2000-$2500. If the dealer I buy from wont give me a deal like that where do I go next?

Yikes! That's about what my dealer wanted. I told them to match Bob Cline at Zeigler and they wouldn't, so I went with Zeigler.

Prices continue to climb on the lifetime maxcare. I paid $2100 on mine for my 2014 GC at new but you wont get that anymore. Thats why its best to buy it as soon as you know you want it. Get the ziegler quote price if your dealer wont match then buy from ziegler. Its the exact samething if your dealer tells you different hes lying. Keep in mind depending on your state your dealer may or may not tax it vs ziegler wont so figure that in.
