Re: Maxcare opinions

Just pulled the trigger and did the Maxcare (lifetime w/ no deductible) from Ziegler. Figure the rental car coverage is a nice addition as well. My last Grand Cherokee was low maintenance, but you never know.

Yikes. You should return it and get the $100 deductible instead. Do the math.

Yes, the $100.00 deductible saves a tremendous amount on the purchase price of the policy. I think when I purchased mine in April of last year, (I can't believe it's been that long already), I figured the amount of times I would have to take it in, to break even on the added cost of eliminating the $100.00 deductible. And the vehicle would have to break down so many times, I would sell the damn thing first, to rid myself of the aggravation, before I would ever capitalize on it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Max Care. But with that said, like most insurance, if you want it to cover every nickel and dime item, it becomes cost prohibitive.

I have had a total of 26 car rental days in 3 visits because my hub module needed replacement.

I figure if I do 14 visits in the life time I break even with have 0 deductible.

I didn't know they had finance plans on warranties . I stay away from that.

My sarcasm was in the opposite direction sir - I was refuting the assertion that the lower deductible should be taken because of how many times it would need to be used in order to break even...

that's normal high pricing...keep in mind u r past 12k )small price bump), past 36k (small price bump) and there are always unannounced price increases that will creep the price up 5% or so every so often...

got to zeiglers website...I am seeing $2,780....then you can contact Bob Cline there and he can usually get it down a couple hundred benjamins....

Genuine Mopar Vehicle Protection Warranty - Save $$ Today

here's another online dealer option...they appear to be $2,530 straight up without any phone call so who knows maybe a benjamin or so off with a phone call?

http://www.chryslerwarrantydirect.co...hoose_warranty

don't wait too long....u have until 48k or 48 months in service to get your MVP plan....
