Maxcare vs Premier essentials

Hey guys new member here.

I can see that most people on here are happy with their maxcare plans. I got talked into some second party Premier plan at the dealership instead. Just wondering if I made a mistake. $1400 5 year 100k Bumper 2 B zero deduct. A comparable maxcare plan at Zeigler was $1600 5 year 75k B2B zero deduct. All the little things are the same, towing, rentals etc... but with the Premier I MUST take it back to where I got the Jeep or I will have to pay $100 per claim. That is not a huge deal, just inconvenient. The mileage doesn't matter much either because I will be around 75k at 5 years. Anyone have any experience with this company? Any issues on claims? I still have about a week left to switch over to maxcare if needed. Thanks guys. Loving my Jeep beyond expectations!

They may look comparable on paper but often when it comes time to use those "other" 3rd party plans it becomes a nightmare. Turn it in and get the maxcare

Re: Maxcare vs Premier essentials

Can't say I ever heard of Premier.
Not always, but sometimes, claims are harder to make with a third party. I have a friend that had a horrible noise coming from her transfer case. She took it to the dealer and they said that they could open it up and look at it but unless it actually failed (likely leaving her stranded) it probably wouldn't be covered. If the claim wasn't covered then she had to pay the labor for the diagnosis.

Manufacturer service contract for me...never a third party. 'Never heard of "Premiere".

Re: Maxcare vs Premier essentials

What the company that the plan goes through? It sounds like a tiered plan and you purchased the "premium" tier. I'm thinking that is not the name of the company who backs up the plan.

I ended up with the Maxcare plan via Ziegler. Direct Chrysler/Mopar plan.

Re: Maxcare vs Premier essentials

Maxcare is only thing I'd roll with.

Just had this week Transcooler and Condenser and Radiator replaced under MaxCare Paid my $100 and drove my rental for 4 days.

Bill For Transcooler and Condenser and radiator would of be over $3,000 Plus they use all Mopar Parts. Third parties often times only authorize aftermarket.

Buy Maxcare.

77k on the SRT i've seen multiple 2011-2012 WK2s with leaking Trans coolers on the drivers side upper portion online. It was originally seen for that but the Radiator leak was also found when they removed the condenser.

Re: Maxcare vs Premier essentials

The company is actually called Premier Dealer Services. A+ BBB rated but I'm still not completely sold. Good news is that they give 60 days to cancel without penalty. I'm assuming that if I do cancel it will look like a 1,400 payment on my car loan. Then I will make 12 direct payments to maxcare. Which kind of sucks. 1 year vs 5 =higher monthly payments. If I do end up keeping it, I will revive this thread with any positive/negative results for future Jeepers. Thanks guys for your feedback.

Ah, that's right. They're all one heat exchanger I was thinking F250 where they are separate coolers. Thought someone put a bullet in the grille. Lol.

If you rolled it into the loan, that may or may not complicate things for you. It's generally best to pay for extended service contracts up-front when you can because they are cancelable, etc.

Re: Maxcare vs Premier essentials

Just want to add, the problem with 3rd party service contracts seems to be more of a dealer acceptance thing rather than a 3rd party willingness to pay problem.
