Aw hell, that's not snow. That's just a bit of God's dandruff.

Re: Mid winter reviews

Put a set of these on an Overland GC with the OR-2 and you will have to do something truly stupid to get stuck or fail to get where you want to go.
The trapezoid studs will stop you on ice pretty much as good as chains, but you can drive high speeds between ice storms.

Re: Mid winter reviews

Awesome ride in snow...and I'm running Forteras with 27K miles on them. (not quite half the tread life left) I'm sure it would be even better with what my next tires will be.

Re: Mid winter reviews

Using "Snow" mode does make a difference. When I put my Overland (with the stock 20" Forteras) in Snow mode it outperforms my old 4x4 pickup that had the Michelin LTX M/S2 tires...

Re: Mid winter reviews

Had a few snowstorms I had to drive in, including one in NYC on Tuesday that dumped around 11". Have no idea where the snow plows were. Went straight through with zero problems. 2013 GC Overland, hemi, running original 20" tires. A bunch of cars and even some SUVs (granted, fake SUVs without the real 4WD system) were stuck. I deliberately chose emptier streets because the other cars were slowing me down far more than the snow was. Couldn't be happier.

Route 66 is a splendid one to behold
Drove to work this morning in Sand mode. Oops! I meant to use Snow mode but didn't pay attention. Still did better than the Land Rover in front of me that hit a curb. Glad I got new Goodyear Adventure with Kevlar tires. The ORII did not come with A/T tires but Michelin touring tires. Seems silly to pay for the most expensive off-road package and not get the A/T tires from the factory. Even the window sticker says it should come with on/off road tires. At least I got to choose my A/T tires.

I know this is off topic a bit, but did you notice any difference in fuel economy between the michelins and the goodyears?

The 2005 scion tc I'm borrowing until my CRD is shipped is god awful in anything but the driest roads. In case any one was curious...

LOL That's snow fall where I live. Where I am from it's nothing for them to see a foot of snow.

Kind of miss it.
