I do think it dropped a little but it's gotten a bit colder, which also drops mileage. Have averaged about 20 mpg the last two tanks but I do mostly city driving. Was around 21 - 22 mpg with the Michelins but with warmer weather as well. Sorry this is not conclusive but I did have great traction in the snow this morning.

Re: Mid winter reviews

Picked up the car and drove home 550 miles in heavy snow, some ice, crossed a mountain pass etc. To be honest after an initial get aquainted period the whole thing became a bit of a meh. I was expecting the Fortera's to be crap based on the negative commentary here but to be honest I think they're decent (but not great) for a stock tire. Quiet, did fine in the snow, smooth riding. I'll be curious to see how they do at the boat launch.

Re: Mid winter reviews

So far, I'm really liking my 2014 Limited. This winter has been pretty bad, with several really cold spells(-10 to -15), and plenty of snow, living in the snowbelt of NE OH. The remote start is awesome. No more coming out to a freezing car when leaving work.
The stock 18" Michelins are just adequate in the snow. Not great, but they're ok I guess. They really suck in deep snow and slush. They'll probably be a lot worse next winter with less tread, so I'll probably get a second set of wheels/tires for next winter. I've had snow tires on numerous cars/suvs before, but I might just get some AT's, like Firestone Destinations or Goodyear Wrangler AT Adventure.

Re: Mid winter reviews

2014 Limited with 20" stock tires. It's been a year of less than normal snow here until last week. My wife has found that snow mode works a bit better than auto when there is white stuff on the road. Car is solid and safe on snow or slush. In snow mode, acts a lot like our sure-footed 1997 JGC that this vehicle replaced. I feel like the stock tires are marginal and I am keeping my eye open for some rims on to which I can mount some Blizzaks or similar. In a normal winter, going to see our daughter in MT we encounter altitude and all kinds of cold conditions. Some true cold weather tires would be nice...since I tend to have a heavy foot on road trips.
