^^^ does that surprise you? I have never once talked to a salesman that knew more about the car than me. It's weird how people that sell the cars for a living and work around and with the vehicles all day long everyday still don't know crap about them. Ugh, I hate dealerships lol.

As far as that strap I never noticed that. Is it on the bottom of the spare tire cover or something? Doesn't seem mid blowing to me or anything especially since I didn't even know it existed lol. Now the heated steering wheel, ventilated seats, and adaptive cruise control are mind blowing ;-)

Worse is when they are flat out wrong. Like when the salesman told me that the V6 had cylinder deactivation and that the GC wasn't available in 2wd. Oh, and the 730N was standard equipment. Then I was 'upgraded' to the top of the line 430N stereo... wait, I have more...

I have something similar on my Saturn Ion Redline. It's a little latch that lifts up, and then hooks onto the top of the trunk (where it meets the windshield, but not on the trunk lid itself). I only used it a few times, and it worked pretty well, until it broke. I had the local dealership order one (back when Saturn was still in business), but I was too lazy to go pick it up. Then they closed up!

Thanks, I didn't know it was there. From the OP's topic I was expecting to find out we were actually driving Transformers and at night while we are sleeping they are off fighting crime. Seriously though it's good to see people still appreciate the little things thanks again.

Is there any WORSE feeling in the world than knowing you've been lied to? That is what is upsetting me the most right now. Yes im disappointed that I too have been unknowingly lying to my friends/parents that the car turns to a 4-cylinder. Oh well, I'm still incredibly satisfied with my Jeep. Maybe when the time comes to get another one I'll wait until the %@#$^& salesmen get more knowledgeable about what they are selling.

Sorry I had to break it to you but I'm not surprised that other salesmen out there got this one wrong too. I wonder how many people with V6 think this because their salesmen told them so. Fortunately I knew better and by the time he said this he had told me 3 or 4 other things that weren't correct so I just dismissed it.

Good luck with that. I have never met a salesman that truly knew their product. That's unfortunate because they only have so many models and configurations - I would really think they would be experts. Sadly I guess they just don't care.

The OM is kinda vague (see page 312 in 5th) but suspect it is this: "This feature allows you to monitor when you are driving in a fuel efficient manner, and it can be used to modify driving habits in order to increase fuel economy" also "The FUEL SAVER MODE message will display above the average fuel economy in the EVIC display"

My ECO is on when in cruise at 60 mph.

I've run into sales guys who didn't know their product and I agree that it doesn't make sense. But both my Ford and Chrysler salesmen are "car guys".

I met the Ford guy while I was having service done on my Expedition and started looking at a Mustang just for fun. He walked over and we started talking. I told him right away that I was just here for service and he said "no problem", and we talked at length about Mustangs and such. He was older than I and had had like 12 or so in his life time. We had a great conversation and I learned a few things. Six months later when I went back to shop for my wife's new car I asked for him, and he knew quite a bit about the Lincoln that she was interested in.

While shopping for my wife's car at the Chrysler dealer I happened upon another older gentleman and he knew his cars as well. I told him that I had always owned Fords but don't like the current crop of FWDs and he put me in a 300 sedan. I was more impressed with that car then any that I had looked at. Six months later when I went back for my Jeep I called on him.

The Audi salesman that I visited when shopping for my wife's car was also very knowledgeable. They send them over to Germany to learn to drive on ice. He had me sit in the passenger seat while he took the car through its paces- in the rain. I would never have driven that fast on a test drive.

Infiniti- same thing. The guy knew everything about the car. And everything about the competition.
