Re: Mineral Gray

No doubt, I was by no means trying to doubt the people on here who work for Chrysler, I was just trying to relay what my sales rep told me.

Why do they even bother giving these unrealistic dates that they will never be able to ship by? Is it automated bureaucracy, or just naivete?

In case you didn't already know, most sales managers are a "....."

Though he did say that he was checking on the computer and it said that the color was in production, either he was lying or the system was incorrect. In either case, like I said, it is always prudent to take anything the stealership says with hefty grain of salt.

Re: Mineral Gray

I just wanted to follow up on this thread after having talked to my sales manager today.

I won't go too much into the details, but by the end of the phone call he was apologizing for having confused Mineral Gray with Dark Charcoal. Since the moment I walked into the Jeep dealership I was asking for Mineral Gray, but my sales manager assumed I had meant Charcoal Gray and told me a car was coming in with the color I was looking for. He told me as of yesterday that the car is due at the dealership on the 20th, imagine how excited I was...

He cleared it up today by saying that the car is in fact Dark Charcoal Gray, but that he has no idea when Mineral Gray will be available, and had never even really heard of the color. So, I'm now considering placing an order for a Mineral Gray Overland due of my dealer's lack of knowledge on the product that they sell.

Does anyone even have a solid ETA for the Mineral Gray Overlands to start hitting dealerships??

Dude...what a punch to the gut. The engineers said this week Mineral Gray was supposed to be available for order, but I have not heard anything official on it yet.

Maybe there is some sort of Chrysler internal memo SNAFU. I had a salesman show me a Mineral Gray car on the lot. He was quite certain it was Gray but it was clearly Dark Charcoal. Didn't know what to do other than say. "looks nice"

Yeah, what began as a simple chat with my sales rep turned into an awkward conversation very fast. I was extremely disappointed, but then again I'd read on here that a Mineral Gray GC WK2 hadn't even left the factory yet so I knew not to hope for too much. It was either going to be delayed far beyond the arrival date (the 20th of this month), or the salesman was dead wrong. Well, it turned out to be the latter. Go figure...

My suggestion would be to head to another dealership, one that actually knows the product. It's the sales manager's job to trickle down the correct info to the salesmen, and if he doesn't know stuff, then no one on his staff would either! Mineral Gray was a standard color on the WKs, and is a current color on Dodge products, that I assume that dealer sells also!

Are you using "sales manager" as the correct term, or are you dealing with a "salesperson" within the dealership?

I'm working with both a salesperson, and the guy he refers to as the sales manager.

F*ck it, when the Dark Charcoal shows up I will have a look at it and if I decide that it is fine then I will go with that color. I would hate to have to settle for something that isn't exactly what I wanted, but I would hate even more to wait for another extended period for the Mineral Gray. Ah, decisions, decisions.....

Hope you get it sorted out. The Mineral Gray is really a beautiful color!

Re: Mineral Gray

Told you.

On a serious note, that SUCKS! My head would skyrocket through the roof just because of the outright lie. This isn't a "mistake" by any means. Let them have that vehicle, just hang on until Mineral Gray comes and order from another dealer. I wouldn't give them the time of day.

Re: Mineral Gray

Just called dealership - Mineral Gray is good to order. My sales guy was going to call me back about "allocation" but for now - sounds like anyone that wants one can now place an order!
