Has anyone placed an order for a Mineral Gray one yet?

I ordered one on labor day. My dealer said nothing about it not being availabe. Gave me a deliver date of 6-8 weeks. I hope they know what they are talking about
You might want to have the dealer recheck that. From what we have been told, Mineral Gray was not available to order on labor day! Per the Jeep Engineers talk today, it will be available to order next week however.

As steve mentioned the Jeep engineers say Mineral Grey/ Saddle Interior and the options such as ACC and blind spot detection will be available to order sometime next week.

Not to bust the bubble, but those options even though order able next week, aren't set to go into production until Oct 1st I believe. So 6-8 weeks may be more like 8-12 weeks from your order date.

This is the best pic I've found, and I think it looks great.

Responding to some other posts about seeing it in person....I totally get that and thanks for the advice. I've seen the dark charcoal in person, and it looks good, but it is certainly on the dark side. I also have seen silver, and that was also nice but a shade too light for me. So for me, I feel good going with mineral gray without seeing it in person b/c it should fall right in the middle.

Yeah, this is pretty close to the color of my 2000 GC and now I'm torn between this and white! Anyone know if there's an existing Chrysler car released that has this same Mineral Gray color to get an idea in person?
I am told that the WK2 Mineral Gray is the same as other Chrysler Mineral Gray paint. I looked at the Dodge Ram truck painted in Mineral gray when I was trying to decide. I have to say that in person the Mineral Gray looks much darker than in the pictures we see of the WK2 painted in it. It does not appear to be a light gray as I was hoping it would. Chrysler dealers seem to have a lot of ram trucks painted in this color so you shouldn't have much trouble finding one in your area.

Yes, I also saw it on a Ram pickup, and on a WK. I liked it on the truck in the showroom, but thought it appeared a bit flat on the WK on an overcast day. It is a bit darker than my present Platinum WJ, but I tend to like the contrast of the chrome bits with the mid-gray color. Waiting to see one in person though...it's something I would need to live with for awhile!

While you may be able to order a Mineral Gray with saddle interior next week, will that still be a "restricted" order until the middle of October as previously published? We may not see one of these in a dealer's showroom until about Christmas, so waiting patiently is prudent!

I just got off the phone with my Jeep dealership and the sales rep told me that his manager checked on the status of my Mineral Gray Overland just a few minutes ago and it has a slated arrival date of the 20th of September.

Now I know that I should take this date with a grain of salt, I've read that many members have already received several arrival dates that have now passed. He also told me that anyone who says that Mineral Gray isn't in production yet is flat-out wrong. I know it probably won't be at the stealership in 10 days, but that would be pretty sweet if it is.

There's at least two people on the forum who work for chrysler.. One builds the Jeeps and the other member I'm not sure exactly what he does, but he knows everything.. Marlon who builds the Jeeps, has Never seen a mineral gray WK2, they aren't being built yet. Do you have the last eight of your VIN? If you become a JG supporter you can have your vehicle tracked by Milous.. He'll tell you the real deal on your status, if its built, whats going on, etc.. Many of us are getting our vehicles tracked, mine was built on the 3rd, ordered July 31st, still not on a rail car. As you mentioned, take dates as a good sign, but nothing to rely on.

Best of luck!

No doubt, I was by no means trying to doubt the people on here who work for Chrysler, I was just trying to relay what my sales rep told me.

Why do they even bother giving these unrealistic dates that they will never be able to ship by? Is it automated bureaucracy, or just naivete?

Still haven't seen one yet. Your sales manager is a..... not even going to go there.

In case you didn't already know, most sales managers are a "....."

Though he did say that he was checking on the computer and it said that the color was in production, either he was lying or the system was incorrect. In either case, like I said, it is always prudent to take anything the stealership says with hefty grain of salt.

I just wanted to follow up on this thread after having talked to my sales manager today.

I won't go too much into the details, but by the end of the phone call he was apologizing for having confused Mineral Gray with Dark Charcoal. Since the moment I walked into the Jeep dealership I was asking for Mineral Gray, but my sales manager assumed I had meant Charcoal Gray and told me a car was coming in with the color I was looking for. He told me as of yesterday that the car is due at the dealership on the 20th, imagine how excited I was...

He cleared it up today by saying that the car is in fact Dark Charcoal Gray, but that he has no idea when Mineral Gray will be available, and had never even really heard of the color. So, I'm now considering placing an order for a Mineral Gray Overland due of my dealer's lack of knowledge on the product that they sell.

Does anyone even have a solid ETA for the Mineral Gray Overlands to start hitting dealerships??

Dude...what a punch to the gut. The engineers said this week Mineral Gray was supposed to be available for order, but I have not heard anything official on it yet.

Told you. ;)

On a serious note, that SUCKS! My head would skyrocket through the roof just because of the outright lie. This isn't a "mistake" by any means. Let them have that vehicle, just hang on until Mineral Gray comes and order from another dealer. I wouldn't give them the time of day.
