Mines missing too and i have the factory tow package.

It does look like its formed for something,fire ext,tow strap,first aid kit,aren't shaped like that !

Here is you answer:

Some export models (such as Australia) are using new pedestrian safety rules. The front tow hooks have been removed (less injury when you run over pedestrians)

The missing part is a tow hook that can be inserted where the front recovery hook is normally located. The plastic cover can be removed and the tow hook inserted into the thread. The Jeep manual states that it is for towing and not for recovery.

I had a 2007 Lexus GX470 with the optional tow package and it included the tow bar, wiring connector and a 2" ball.
