Re: Model Year 2012 Mercedes Benz ML350

The interior is beautiful except for the DVD screens; which look like an after thought, and they really don't match the level of quality of the rest of the interior. The exterior design leaves a lot to be desired though. I guess the new "chiseled face" is ok but the slab sides kind of make it look like a minivan on steroids.

Re: Model Year 2012 Mercedes Benz ML350

Ugly exterior, decent interior, WAY OVERPRICED compared to the competition which is typical MB, BMW, Audi, etc. DVD screens are bulky out of place and don't look good at all. The people buying it will buy it for the badge plain and simple. Not impressed at all with the exception of the heated/cooler cup holders.

Most opinions here are similar. As a previous MB owner, I remember what used to draw me to the brand but this has a Blah! exterior with an OK interior. I agree that the Video Centres look to be an afterthought. I would like less chrome on the interior details too. Really a middle of the road design without polarizing details that will appeal to many buyers. I expect to see them show up as grocery carts in my subdivision soon.

Chrysler has been doing this off an on, not sure why they leave it off of certain cars. The new 300 has heated and cooled holders. They had it in the last seabring too.

Re: Model Year 2012 Mercedes Benz ML350

There is no better suv in terms of looks, quality, capability, and features compared to the jgc period. Plus I like buying american. Even if you take price out of the equation, I still think the jeep is one of the most attractive SUVs on the road. I'm on my second jeep, and there was still no other suv that came that close to make me reconsider the jeep.

I think the jeep has awesome features no other SUV can come close to in my opinion. Also I think the styling of the grand Cherokee hands down beats the ML.

That would be a nice feature to add for the WK2 mid-facelift..

Re: Model Year 2012 Mercedes Benz ML350

2005 Escalade platinum had heated/cooled cupholders as well.

I like the interior of the ML much better and the diesel and new TT 4.7 V8 are much better than the marginal engines in the GC, and the Benz 7 speed auto is a damn fine transmission.

The exterior looks bad in pictures but I'll withhold judgement until I see one on the road. Mercs current styling language doesnt translate well in photos, just look at the CLS online vs in person.
Resale value is likely to be a wash as both MLs and Grand Cherokees have horrible resale value.
That being said comparably equiped those upgrades don't make it 20 grand better.

The one feature the GC needs to take from the ML is the iPad docking stations on the back of the seats.
