Mopar Cross rail question

I picked up a set of the factory cross rails and before installing, I want to make sure all parts are included. Does the base of each post have a rubber liner/seal or is it only for two of the four bases? Mine only included two. It's a rubber insert that fits around the metal bracket that attaches to the roof rail.

Attached are two pics showing the rubber piece I'm questioning. Thanks!

Re: Mopar Cross rail question

Yes, there should be four rubber feet- one for each base and all identical. They are easy to lose and I suggest when you don't have them installed put them in a zip lock bag along with the special wrench and key and put them in with the spare tire.

The instructions for these are very poorly written and lots of folks install them wrong. Yours were probably returned from someone else who couldn't figure them out and had lost two of the feet.

How hard is it to write: One of the bars is slightly shorter- that goes in the back. There are little arrow stickers on the middle of the bars on the bottoms and those should point towards the hood.

I still haven't figured out what the keys are for so if anyone knows please clue me in.

Re: Mopar Cross rail question

great, so I am missing two of the rubber feet inserts.

I will look into seeing if additional ones can be purchased otherwise it looks like I could easily cut a piece of material to serve the same purpose. It mounts fine without, but I'm sure its purpose is to protect the plastic from cracking when cranking it down and to keep from rattling if it the screws loosen.

Call the seller and tell him you want what you paid for or else send them back.

Re: Mopar Cross rail question

the seller was not aware of them missing and said they never had them when they received them brand new. I got a great deal, so Im not going to fuss too much. I already cut two pieces of material and it works the same. I'm waiting to hear back from the parts dept regarding ordering new pieces. They seem so easy to lose that they'd be replaceable, but maybe not.
