Re: mopar express lane -- express is used loosely.

The dealers I have been using have done a good job. I always check to see how good of a job they have done with the clean up and I always check the dip stick. Those quick lube places always had oil all over and were always trying to sell me everything else.

Guess that explains why my dealer does not have "Mopar Express". Of course they do have great donuts and coffee.

Re: mopar express lane -- express is used loosely.

I have three Jeep dealers near me. One I bought from before and was treated well. When Obama's car czar was redistributing dealerships, one dealer lost it's Jeep franchise, while another dealer 6 miles from my house picked it up. I stopped by there a few weeks back when I decided Jeep would be my next vehicle. The sales department was typical and the salesman friendly, with little knowledge of the Jeep. That's OK since I found Jeep Garage to get my info.

I then walked around to the service department. It was a dump. I have never seen a dealership with such a dirty, cluttered service department.

Now I have only 2 dealerships to choose from. I still haven't checked out the one that's about 10 miles north of me.

Re: mopar express lane -- express is used loosely.

Took me over an hour for an oil change at my dealer last weekend. I was less than impressed.

Re: mopar express lane -- express is used loosely.

A couple of observations here; the local Jeep dealer is a family owned operation and has been around 50+ years. They depend on repeat buyers, support local charities and offer excellent service and follow through. When I take my vehicles in for service, I get a free loaner. I know for a fact that locals that bought their vehicles from out of town dealers usually get put at the back of the line for service and warranty work. Yes, I know that's not supposed to happen, but it does.

Local dealers support the community, it's the least I can do to support them.

I'd rather spend 2 hrs at the dealer vs. 10 minutes at a Jiffy Lube. I've never driven 1 tire in a Jiffy Lube, and never plan to. I only go to dealer for oil changes -- if they are free.

Re: mopar express lane -- express is used loosely.

I bought my Jeep from a dealer about 90 miles north of me (local dealer undersold the vehicle I had my financing lined out for through them, all I had to do was get off work and go sign the papers, not happy at all). Anyway, the local service department here sucks, wouldn't trust them with feeding my dog on time let alone something mechanical. So I go to the Dodge dealership for service.

LOL you nailed it. I sure miss that about BMW ownership. The dealership was an actual nice place to spend time if you had to. When I took mine in for its oil change they had a brad new BMW pulled up for me even for an oil change. I cringe at having to go to a Chryco dealer. I feel dirty when leaving there. Lol
