Wow all this time I thought I was crazy. Anytime I park my '12 I walk around once and check. When I come back, I check the car again. I always put the wk2 in the garage. I live in LA and was at Cedars Sinai last week when I see an old hag park a gold Mercedes next to my car. She opens her door and rests the door on the chrome of my front passenger door. I couldn't believe it. She couldn't care less. When she got out, I checked and luckily no scratch. I look at her door and the paint is trashed on the edge of the door. It may be Laredo but she's still my baby. To the OP, glad you didn't take their crap. Great job. Too many people will try to BS you these days.

Yes, yes they will. My girl thought that i had a touch of OCD when I decided to walk around the car with the phone in video mode just taking a short of the exterior. Now, she is like, "great thinking dear". As for the garage, they didn't even deny it.

First they wanted me to take it to their garage and I was like, "ya know what, let me do some research on their place". Good ratings, but when I attempted to call them (5 days in a row to schedule a drop off), nobody ever called me back. So, I called the management office up and told them how its going to be. I will get an estimate and give it to you to send me a check bf the work is done. First he said, "let me get them to call you", then I said, "we tried that game once and that was your shot". My efing time is worth more than the repairs on this car and I have already wasted enough dealing with your mistake. Want me to invoice you for my time.... silence over the phone. So, I said FU then took it to my guy in NJ. $940 was the estimate.

Now its wait and see time. Not worried though, I have all the ammo I need, plus a vicious attorney for a wife. Sure, she is sweet as sugar with the family, but man, get her in court and she will put it in your neck faster than you know what happened.

that sucks to hear it man. Some would for sure be covering that, I one time unfortunatley did a booboo to someones new Chevy Suv. To make a long story short. I worked at a GM dealership at the time. The jack i was using was crap and luckily but unlucky for me the stand went through the side lower cladding. I told my supervisor right away. Paid for the damages myself and had one overnighted to replace/installed for the customers pick up next day. I guess it all depends the honesty of people. I could have probably gotten away with what I did. No matter the grade of vehicle it is out of respect what I did and the right thing to do. No issues, no drug test, no nothing. I think my supervisor was glad what I did. LOL it sucked not having a pay check for a week.!!! But situation taken care off good luck with your situation.

I think I would have put it through my own insurance and let them work on the recovery. They would either wave the deductible, or get it back for you. In NY this would not be a chargeable claim, so no rate increase.

Bill, you sure about that? Not that I doubt what you're saying, but I was all nervous just to ask Geico. I am still within that 6 month "feel you out as a policy holder" time frame and certainly didn't want them to raise my premium after the 6 months bc of what these mouth breathers did.

Man, this forum has solid peoples on it. Always putting the info out there.

Yea, they better. I mean, lets look at the facts which are indisputable; I have a video of what my car looked like when I dropped it off, I reported it to the attendant at the time of discovery at the garage, sent an email with pics to the home office the same night and they already put the claim in to the home office and it was approved. Sure it was approved to use their own repair shop, but none the less, they knew they were at fault bc they put the claim through. Either way, if they wanna play efing hardball, i got a big ol' bat.

Man, this forum has solid peoples on it. Always putting the info out there.
I always recommend that people don't make decisions based on what they read on the internet, even if I wrote it. So, verify what I am telling you.

Regulation 64 from the NYS Insurance Department says that if a company can recover at least 30% of what they pay out, no surcharge. If the payout is less than $1000, no surcharge. There are other items that pertain to this, but these two would come into play in your case.

Call Geico and ask, or call the State Insurance Department. They actually have people there who should be able to clarify anything regarding this regulation.

Re: Mother efing nyc car garage - With pics

Resolution time. Just spoke to the garage, and they mailed the check for the full amount of the repairs (estimate for $946.02) yesterday. Should receive the check by tomorrow.

Ya see kids, it pays to take that extra 10 seconds to walk around the car and take a small video just in case this kind of bull$hit happens.
