Motor Trend's WK2 Long-Term Update

Here it is, and after all that time Motor Trend doesn't have much to offer. You have to wonder why Jeep bothers loaning them a vehicle when they say little, and when they do they make mistakes (see their intro Long Term writeup some months back).

Re: Motor Trend's WK2 Long-Term Update

They have a great point, I would love the new nav system! Ours seems so outdated!

That said, I read a report on another Chrysler car with the new Nav and they complained that it was too slow.

Re: Motor Trend's WK2 Long-Term Update

They must not read the owner's manual. If they are driving in "Auto" they are in AWD, not 2WD.

CNET gave the new systems raving reviews and said it was extremely quick. Unlike the MFT which is a joke and plainly slow.

Personally I am not sure I want the 8.4" screen, in the charger and journey it looks so out of place. The only car the 8.4 looks good in is the 300, they do a good job of hiding the fact that it's a huge screen.

Re: Motor Trend's WK2 Long-Term Update

Read the first two installments of that report. They actually had a lot of good things to say about the GC.

Re: Motor Trend's WK2 Long-Term Update

6 months with the new 2011 GC and all Motortrend can give for this update is 3 paragraphs. Pathetic. That's why I get my information on the new Jeep Grand Cherokee from jeepgarage.org

Re: Motor Trend's WK2 Long-Term Update

I'm not sure what you're wanting. Long term updates are NEVER long articles; 3 paragraphs is more than most magazines give, and this one is more positive than Chrysler might have ever received before. The only real complaint is that the V-6 doesn't seem to bring forth fuel savings in keeping with the reduction in power over the Hemi, which is something that's been noted here; it's adequate, but in real use it doesn't seem to be THAT much thriftier at the pump.
