6'5"/ lean 240 lb.
That shifter is pointless.
I even looked into the feasibility of putting a dial into the SRT.
When I first drove the new ('14) SRT, I could not believe what they had done..
Because I am a bit slow, I actually went back and looked a a few others just to be sure I was correct...

Your seat must be jacked up to the max.

Maybe he means he's bothered by the center console, not the actual shifter.

No, it is the placement of the shifter. it sits right in the middle of the console, favoring the driver.
No issue with my '11 6-speed Summit console or shifter.

Congrats on the Escalade!! It's kinda been on my radar too. Right now a new one would be too expensive for me. Even though I like them, I think they're a little too flashy, for me anyway.

Re: Movin on...

I notice that it's really easy to bump the shifter with my leg as well. And I agree that it's placed too close to the drivers side of the console.

Re: Movin on...

You guys need to back your seats up some to compensate for those lurpy knees!

I'm 6'6" and never noticed any issue with spacing related to my legs and the shifter.

Interesting to hear it's a deal-breaker for the OP though, because I wouldn't assume they'd imagined it.

Movin on...

One would think that after all the computer-aided studies of ergonomics (yes there is even a name for it) that Jeep would have realized they needed to adjust their prototype a bit to compensate for all of us over 6'2". I find myself with the same issue in my 2015 Summit and wonder w h y??
Seems like a no brainer in such a great vehicle. Geez.

6'2" and never hit the shifter.

I'm checking this thread 'till I see pics of the new Cadillac. I've seen one in person. The interior is amazing...and the tail lights looked like they're 4' tall!
