Re: Moving On

Back in May GBJeep posted they are "Very happy with their Laredo X"... Sounds like problems started recently?

Re: Moving On

I'm on my 4th JGC. All I have done with any of them is change fluids, brakes and tires. No other repairs.

Re: Moving On

I have a 2012 and while it has had a few issues, it's the dealerships near me that would make me switch. Acura was great. Dodge - not so much. Love the JCG though.

Same for me, the closest dealer is 30 min away and they are frustrating to deal with. I have a very nice and friendly Chevy dealer 5 min away, I'll probably get a Tahoe next.

If there was a jeep dealer closer I would stick with Jeep, but it never seems like they give me a reason to.

Re: Moving On

I have a 2012 GC with the 5.7 and just turned 92,000. To date, in addition to recalls, issues fixed under warrantee:

- rear hatch shock absorber (35K)
- camshaft oil control valve (50.5K)
- transmission solenoid cluster - fluid & filters (58.6K)

Outside of warrantee:

- oil & filter changed every 3K
- K&N lifetime air filter (100).
- Winter tires: Nokian Hakkapeliitta 7 SUV factory studded (used 4 seasons to date - 35.7K with 9mm of tread left)
- OEM tires - replaced Michelin Lattitude with Cooper Discover At3 (34K - driven mlles)
- plugs replaced with OEM once (47K)
- passenger side blend door gear (78K)
- brakes/rotors all 4 (81.7K)
- New battery - Interstate MT5-94R/H7 (91.4K)
- front/rear axle/transfer case fluid changed (91.5K)

I now have a ? drivetrain ? whine most notable @ 40mph but may be tire noise which will be confirmed or dismissed when I change to snows next month. I found mileage with 87 oct within 1 mpg of 89 oct with no pinging even when towing my Ski Nautique. My dealer service has been without problems.

My prior vehicle was a 98 Durango, 5.2 which I sold for $500 after 365K. To date I am happy my GC and hope it lives as long as the Durango.

Best of luck to all of you & fairwell for now.

Well that didn't last long.
Obviously from the above post I was frustrated with my 11' JGC and my dealer. But after two months in a "reliable" Lexus GX 460 that I found to be very uncomfortable, I got rid of the GX and purchased a new 15 JGC Limited.
I looked at several other makes of SUV's but decided to come back to Jeep.
So far I'm really impressed with my new ride & the updated features.
Also made my purchase at different dealer and had a much better experience and will use them for service as needed.

Glad to be back in a Jeep!

Glad to hear you switched back as well, I'm quite certain history won't repeat itself. In regards to Lexus, I've had numerous RXs and two LS460s and although they never gave me problems, they all were amongst the most BORING vehicles I've ever driven.

Thanks! No worries with history repeating itself. Also agree with you on the boring part. On top of that I found the seats to be uncomfortable which resulted in a back ache that didn't stop until I got my new Jeep.

My return is now 5 or 6 months away. I'll be watching your comments to see if you remain happy with your decision.

Welcome Home.

Moving On

Welcome back! I have a 2014 Lexus GS 350 F Sport in my garage along with my GC. My wife usually drives it, but sometimes I take it since it's nice to drive a car occasionally.
