I've had my 2011 Grand Cherokee Laredo E V6 4x4 for 4 years now. I've been very happy with it. Has ~42 000 miles. No major issues. Very reliable.
Last week, while while waiting for an oil change/tire rotation, I checked out the 2014s. Wow! What a vehicle! I like what Jeep did, inside and out. Very impressed. The model that I liked the most was the Limited with the V6. Took it for a test drive and loved it. The new gear shifter takes some getting use to though.
I did my research as to what my 2011 is worth. The Canadian Black Book (equivalent to the US Blue Book) lists my 2011 as being worth between 20 000 and 22 000$ (Canadian dollars!). I still owe 11 000$ on it.
Saturday I went back to the dealer and began negotiations for that very Limited I test drove the week before. Some specs:
Brilliant Black Crystal Peal
Sunroof (the normal one)
Trailer tow package
The window sticker price is 52 760$ (again this is CDN $)
I was expecting the dealer to give me 3-4k less than what the book lists for my 2011. But the appraisal guy was impressed with my 2011 and offered 21 000$. Beyond my expectation!
Negotiations went well and after 3 hours I was satisfied with the deal. 45 000 with tax/fees. Winter tires, mudflaps, clear bra and bug deflector included.
I should have my new 2014 on Feb. 5th.
Pictures to come!
