Mpg MY11 V8

I'm considering buying a 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland trim with a V8. Is the MPG gonna kill me?

Re: Mpg

There are lots of threads that talk about fuel economy with the Hemi...and there are many variables. Some of us get great mileage and others don't. Most of that has to do with how you drive, both as a driver and the type of driving you need to do regularly.

Re: Mpg

I doubt that the MPG will kill you but it won't be getting Prius type mileage.

I believe that you would probably see 16-18 MPG around town.

Re: Mpg MY11 V8

I usually average about 15.5-16.5 mpg. I have about a 36 mile round trip to work. About 8 miles of that is in town driving and the other 28 miles is highway. Like Jim said it really depends on your driving style and conditions, but I wouldn't expect anywhere near 20 mpg unless you do all of your driving on the highway. I drove from Ohio to Fl a few months ago and barely averaged 20 mpg round trip. With all that being said I wouldn't take the V-6 over the Hemi, especially when you are looking at 2011's with the 5 speed trans.

Re: Mpg MY11 V8

I get 13-14 mpg in mixed Los Angeles driving with upsized BFGs. 15-16 mpg in mixed driving seems realistic for a stock rig not in a big city.

Re: Mpg MY11 V8

I get from 15 to 18 mpg depending on how much I use the Sprint Booster(best $300 I've ever spent on an engine mod). i didn't even consider the V6.

Re: Mpg MY11 V8

I typically get between 13 and 15 in town, but on highway trips it improves to around 19 and have even seen almost 21 before. All depends on the conditions.
