Mud Flaps/Spash Gaurds REMOVAL (2014 JGC LIMITED)

So I just had mud flaps installed on my 2014 JGC and I hate the way the look. Does anyone (with mud flap experience) know how to remove them and if would damage the underside of the finder plastic if I did remove them. In other words would it look like it did before if I removed the mud flaps? Please help!!!

It would really help if there is a pic out there of a JGC that once had mud flaps that doesn't have them any more

Re: Mud Flaps/Spash Gaurds REMOVAL (2014 JGC LIMITED)

If you haven't driven much since the install they still should look the same. The longer they are on the more dirt gets in between and then scratches the trim.

As far as removing them, there are like 3-4 screw that you unscrew and re-screw back in place once they are off.

You can remove the mud flaps easly, but i would suggest to look into your driving conditions before you do it.... If u use graval road then the plastic underneath will be scratched a lot after few months.....

My factory rear mudflaps scratched the hell out of the paint in no time. LOL... there's no taking them off now.

It's funny to me that the mud flaps are supposed to protect from scratches and dings. And yet...

Yep, it's amazing. Had the same thing happen with factory flaps on my 02.

The molding on the mudflap is cosmetic to make it look better but it sure traps a lot of crap against the paint. Then when the flap flexes it acts like sandpaper.

Thanks a lot everyone.. I just took them badboys off (they were only on for a day).. So let me get this straight, I'm less likely to get scratches with them off?? I would've thought it was the other way around.. That's crazy!! If you can't tell already, I'm new to jeep lol

Do you have a pic of the aftermarket flaps (with the jeep logo) that you purchased?

Am sure this pic wont look cool without the back black bumper cover... I hve just removed it for painting into white..... and one more thing the, the white color around the mudflap is not originally thr when you buy it... i have painted white around it.... but the jeep logo is original.....

actually thr is 2 choices for size... 9"x15" and 11"x19"

Mine is 11"x19" because i use more gravel roads.....

Now those puppies should stop a lot of crap from hitting your paint.
