My First Impressions of my 2015 Limited

I purchased my 2015 Limited on 5-06-2015 and have driven it now over 200 miles and just want to post some of my first impressions. I traded in a 2015 Cherokee TH and since I am not planning on doing any off road driving I settled for the Limited 4 by 4. I already have a post on "deals on leftover 2015 W2s" if you want more details. My wife drove it home from about a hundred miles from our home since I left my DL at home accidentally. I did take the test drive though since they didn't ask for my DL first. I enjoyed the ride in my passenger seat with the heat on as I have a bad back and almost always turn it on when driving or riding. It was a big move from the TH as much more room in the cabin and the ride was nice and smooth (and I didn't yell at the wife's driving--not much anyhow). I have driven it about a hundred miles so far and am really satisfied. I did have to take it to a local dealer that did two update flashes (BCM and PCM) and had to adjust my hood which was about 1/16 of an inch for coming down on the fender on one side---but all is taken care of now. Selling dealer should have done this in my opinion, but I have a great relationship with a local dealer even though I didn't purchase it from them. I am not one that gets too exciting about gas mileage as I used to drive Ram trucks with the hemi so anything over 10 MPG is great for me. I think it is getting about 17 right now and that is mainly city and some mixed over the road without too many red lights. (I never call them green lights as that is seldom). I have not used the paddle shifting yet but will soon. I have never had a vehicle with this many nice features so am really pleased with it--especially the memory seat so the wife and I don't have to readjust the seat every time we change drivers. I also like the blind spot and cross path detection alert as I didn't have that on the TH either. Similar 8.4 touchscreen display so fairly familiar with it, but since I am a senior citizen I still don't use a lot features on it that is available. I had contacted another dealer with a similar vehicle but it was true blue and I like white better. The other one did have the 18 inch wheels but this one came with the 20 inch wheels and they seem to be fine for my on road driving and very little snow here in Upstate Sc. Oh, I love the smooth shifting on the 8 speed transmission. (although my KL I traded in had a very smooth transmission too--was my 4th KL so I finally had a great one--nothing wrong with it at all--just wanted to get a GC at a great price-my only chance maybe at my age) I have some pictures but you all know what a white Limited looks like anyhow and I can't figure out how to post them. My son did post them on my previous form (KL) to let them know I had moved on to the WK2. To sum this post up in one word, "delighted."

Re: My First Impressions of my 2015 Limited

Congrats! I bought my 2015 Limited 4x4 in mid January and have already put just over 9,000 miles on it. (We Texans love our road trips.)

I've got a couple of minor intermittent gripes that I'll discuss with the dealer when it's time for my first oil change. I've had a few times where the compass direction goes wonky and a couple of instances of lukewarm air blowing out of the A/C when the car hasn't been started for several hours.

I absolutely love it overall. I previously had a 2008 and traded it in for a 2004 BMW 328. Worst mistake I ever made and I paid a lot to get out of the BMW and back into a Jeep. Nothing beats the functionality and luxury of a Grand Cherokee. Nothing at all.

Re: My First Impressions of my 2015 Limited

We love outs except for a shifting issue from first to second when cold. Awful
Got almost 30 mpg going from St. Louis to Detroit. Love it.

Re: My First Impressions of my 2015 Limited

Congratulations on your 2015 Limited. Nice review! I bought my new 2015 Limited 4x4 on April 23rd. Very impressed so far. Also trying to get used to all the unique features. It seems like I learn something new about mine every other day! I still get excited about the opportunities to drive it.

Re: My First Impressions of my 2015 Limited

Congratulations on your 2015 Limited. I purchased a 2014 Limited 4x4 Hemi in May of 2013 and loved it. Drove it for about 24,000 miles with no problems and loved it. But it didn't have some of the new safety features and as I am a senior citizen also I decided to trade up for a 2016 Summit in February 2016 which has the safety features I wanted. My new 2016 is also Bright White and I am again in love with it.

Thanks to you and all that have responded to my post. I am going to look up your running boards on google as they look great. I spent my "nickel" but maybe I can find a few cents to get them in the future.

I agree 100% on this, "Nothing beats the functionality and luxury of a Grand Cherokee. Nothing at all." - I love the luxury and the utility (carries a lot of baseball equipment). Best vehicle I've owned.

Re: My First Impressions of my 2015 Limited

We bought our 2015 Limited 3 months ago and love it. We live at 7000 ft elevation and my in laws live by the beach, 200 miles away. We've been back and forth several times and are still impressed with the ride, handling and mileage (21 mpg over the 3 months). We've had Chevy, VW and Porsche SUVs and think the GC has the best combination of features. Now I know why there are so many Grand Cherokees on our mountain.

Which engine? How is the power on the climb home?

Really nice write-up Ptram. Hope you enjoy your JGC as much as I enjoy mine.
