My first Jeep, and my first post

I wish I had found this resource before I stepped foot on the dealer lot, I might have save a couple grand! But I'm happy with what I got, I'm not going to second guess it now! Yesterday I brought home a new '15 JGC Summit in Granite Crystal, 4x4, 3.6L...I was gunning for one with the California Edition pkg, I preferred the body-color mirrors and door handles with that color, but we couldn't find a 4x4 in the state with that package that had black interior (they all had sienna brown). So I caved on this one, and I'm excited...I love how it drives, it's nice being in a heavy vehicle again. I drove an '07 Escalade EXT for 5 years, then chucked it all and went to a Chevy Volt when gas got up to $5 a gallon! My lease ends next month, so here I am!

Re: My first Jeep, and my first post

Damn, that thing looks awesome!! I dont care what anyone says, the Summit is a fine looking machine.
As far as the Platinum edition, for some reason I cant warm up to the body colored mirrors and handles on that car. For some reason I like the chrome better on the Summit edition specifically. Whats cool that since you went with granite, your lower skirts are already paint matched. That's the one thing that I don't like about the non-platinum Summit is the dark gray skirts. I removed all the lower skirts on my white summit and they are at a shop being painted as we speak. I think a non-platinum Summit is gonna look awesome with matching skirts. I cant wait to get them back on.

I never even noticed that about the skirts on the other colors, I guess I was always just dialed in on the Granite...the white will look great with that change, the photos of the white Platinum models sure look sharp.

It's a great looking ride! I personally prefer the one you got, I don't like the Platinum or Cali edition or whatever it is where everything matches.

Nice choice! I just picked up my first jeep yesterday too..., a black on black Summit.

Nice Summit! I like the Platinum mirrors and that's about it. The brushed trim doesn't look as classy up close as the chrome imho.
On the other hand, I don't know why so many people love black interior? Maybe it's cause I had a black interior for the last 8 yrs but I love my brown interior on the Summit.
Nonetheless, that's a sharp looking Jeep!

I agree with the interior thing. First time I sat in my Summit at the dealership with the Grand Canyon Brown interior I knew I was sold. Continued on to test drive another one with black interior and it just wasn't the same.
I agree with you guys about the Platinum edition. Even though I know a lot of guys on this site like to de-chrome, but I feel the Summit is one model where chrome mirrors and handles look better than painted.
I think it's pretty cool that Jeep offers so many different packages to pretty much make everyone happy.

Re: My first Jeep, and my first post

I liked the darker Grand Canyon brown interior, my issue was with the Sienna Brown option, a much lighter and "oranger" saddle brown that no matter how I looked at it, just looked wrong with a Granite exterior. It might have looked right with a black, green, or even a white exterior, but I just couldn't do it with the Granite. I've had black leather interiors on my last two vehicles before the JGC, and have always liked them...so I'm glad I held fast to that. I will say that the chrome is growing on me even more these last couple days, so the longing for the Platinum pkg has faded fast!

For me it's the headliner color. Unless I am mistaken the only way to get a dark headliner is to get the black interior.

Good news on the new car. Looks great.
