I'm glad your head, arms or legs weren't underneath the vehicle when that happened!!

Re: My jack buckled ('14 Overland) - warranty?

I used the oem jack one evening to remove all 4 22" wheels from my 13' SRT right before I traded it in. No problem here...but that was on a level garage floor. I do agree that the oem jack could be better. Not all situations will be on a level garage floor.

Re: My jack buckled ('14 Overland) - warranty?

Found this thread saved in my archive of subscriptions and I thought I would contribute my findings.

I purchased a Powerbuilt 4,000 lb. Unijack, to replace the p.o.s. scissor jack that I know is pretty cumbersome to use. This is mainly for emergency flat tire situations, but it will also definitely work for at home tire swaps if need be. And the best part, it fits in the spare tire well after removing one of the bins. I'm yet to use it on the Jeep though, but hopefully won't NEED to anytime soon.

Powerbuilt 620470 Unijack - 4000 lb.

There is also a 6,000 lb. and 3 ton Unijack version, but I think those are both too tall to fit underneath the stock height WK2 before the lift and I know they will be too big to fit in the spare tire well with everything else.

Hopefully this will help someone searching for a better jack for their Jeep or Durango.

Jack height fitting underneath before lifting or height of lift afterwards?

I checked the fitment underneath prior to lifting and it's perfect.

No biggie. So I break out the full size spare tire and the factory jack. Half-way through the jacking the damn jack buckles in half and breaks. I was on the slightest incline imaginable, not enough in my opinion for it to buckle over. We're talking very minor.

Unbelievable. You'd think a $50k vehicle would come with a competent jack that can lift 5,000lbs.

Luckily my dad was there and we used the jack from his VW Touareg TDI (genius design on that one, BTW) to take care of things.

Anyway, if I take the broken jack to to dealer will they replace it with a new one? Is that a warranty item?

You probably overloaded it with the weight of the jeep. Was it a front tire that was flat?

How can you overload a jack designed and supplied for a specific vehicle?

Re: My jack buckled ('14 Overland) - warranty?

I've used my Jack once on the rear, no issues.
