Well here is my new ride! 2014 Summit with the Hemi in Granite Crystal. This thing is really smooth and the Granite Crystal color is the best looking color for the Summit in my opinion. I am really glad I went with the hemi instead of the V6. It feels good to have that power behind the pedal when I need it. Shifting is super smooth. I LOVE the look of the chrome with this color paint. The HK sound system sounds delicious! Honestly, it is far better than the Alpine and I am super pleased with it. It was one of the main reasons I decided on the Summit instead of the Overland. Everything is crisp with the perfect amount of bass, mids and highs. I love having the front park sensors too. Gas sucks on it, but I didn't buy this thing so I could have good mileage. I bought it so I can get from point A to point B and back without any problems.

I got a great price on this from my dealer. MSRP was $55,885. I got it for $49,395 plus tax/tags. Total OTD price was $52,075. No one locally could come anywhere close to his price. I went to about 4 different dealers and called about 10. Nobody could touch it. Every other dealer told me that I was being lied to when I told them the price I was offered. Boy do I hate car salesmen with a passion! Honestly, most are the biggest scum of the earth lol. The only person that did better was Nader at Koons for the DC group buy. Nader was a pleasure to speak with over the phone. His total price OTD was about $300 better, but I would have spent that money traveling back and forth along with the time it would have taken. I feel good about my decision to stay local.

A few things. 1st off, the speaker cover on the driver side door was dented in. Dealer pointed it out to me right away and said it came that way. I am thinking that maybe they kicked it while prepping the vehicle for me. They are ordering me a new cover.

There were a few scratches on the engine cover. I might complain about that but I am not sure yet. No one is ever going to see it, but it just bugs me a little knowing it is there.

Everything else seems great. Oh yeah, I noticed a little bump on one of the polished wheels. Kinda like a pimple. Not sure if it is worth complaining about.

I plan on tinting the front side windows to match the back. I also plan on installing some cameras in it to record video while I am driving. I haven't decided on a system yet. Also planning on some all weather floor mats. I am leaning towards the Husky but still need to do some research. Might put a good air filter and possibly exhaust, but I am worried about screwing up any warranties if I do so.

I really am glad I went with this over the other vehicles I drove. The BMW X5 and Mercedes ML350 were both nice, but clearly did not have the value that this Jeep has. Lets just hope it stays that way

Thanks to everyone for their help with my many questions. I guess I am officially part of the family now. I even made a new pic for my signature. I hope you like it!

Congrats on the purchase, thats an amazing setup you got there. Not sure though I understand this comment haha. What kind of problems do you anticipate one of the other engine setups giving you when going from point A to point B? :D

I know you mentioned doing a couple mods to the car. I guess exhaust could be cool, but I wonder how they would effect the special fitting exgaust tips of the summit. That would suck to remove those nice tips for some round ones that dont fit that opening properly. You also said you want the best filter for the car. The stock one IS the best. Dont bother with a K&N or anything those wont do anything for performance and do nothing but let a little more junk through. Just my recommendation.

Congrats again!

lol I didn't anticipate problems. Just wanted the muscle and the speed at the same time. You got me there though ;)

I do really love the exhaust tips that are stock. Really slick looking. I saw a few people that have put the Corsa system on their Jeeps. They have dual tips that would fill in the space evenly, but I'm really not sure if I want to go that route or not yet or if it is the sound that I want. When I said filter I meant air intake. Do you think it is a waste of money to put something like a Volant Air Intake in the Jeep? This is the first vehicle in a long time that I am not leasing. Since I actually own this thing, I want to have some fun with it and make sure it performs the best it can. I have modified my motorcycles in the past, but never anything on 4 wheels.

I appreciate your feedback and anyone else who would like to add to it.

Congrats! Looks sharp!

'Just out of curiosity and for future reference, what dealer did you end up purchasing through?

Thanks! I went with Videon in Newtown Square. I have known the sales manager for years. Not sure if everyone else will get the same price I got, but I know for a fact that plenty of people have saved lots of money by buying from him.

Oh yeah! The roof has been open and I have been driving. The hardest part is fighting the overwhelming temptation of wanting to put the pedal to the floor and experiencing the power of the hemi. My first tank of gas didn't last very long because of it lol

Beautiful! I have found that from 70mph on the millage decreases more rapidly. I'll get that 25 at 65mph but over 70 i'll get 19maybe. Enjoy!!! If you decide not to go with the exhaust or even if you do, put install an intake (K&N, Volant etc) the sound is ridiculously cool on the Hemi.
