My new to me JGC Altitude.

Hi Guys,
New in the forum.
I picked up this 2014 JGC Altitude 4x4 and I'm reading all those recalls and issues with the trany. Thinking to get Max care liftime for $3800/$100 from Zeigler.com. Now this trany recall is warranty for how long? Thanks

Re: My new to me JGC Altitude.

Recalls are always covered by Fiat-Chrysler Jeep, even after your warranty runs out. That's a great looking Jeep you bought!

Thanks.

Does any one know how can I find which brake code do I have? BRy or BR6
Trying on getting MGP brake covers.
I also try Vin decoded but doesn't show brakes codes.
Thanks

Re: My new to me JGC Altitude.

You have standard brakes which are BRY.
I would recommend painting the calipers with the duplicolor caliper kit instead of using covers. The cover will make your car look cheap.

Im not a big fan of covers also but, I think these tiny/ugly calipers painted will look even cheaper. I think the red covers that says jeep will look fine as its hard to note what type of brake you have behind this 20" wheels. You will see just something red. I will go full brake system if I had different wheels also that you can really see them.
Thanks

Re: My new to me JGC Altitude.

Yeah I guess only people like me who know the difference between a real BBK and plastic covers will notice.

Personally I wouldn't care what others think but could never add cheap parts to my car. Might as well check out the APC aisle at Pep Girls.

I also can tell the different, but as I said before is hard to note it with this wheels. Also this is my wife week drive. Mine is an 335I.

Re: My new to me JGC Altitude.

I painted my wife's black and will do the same with her next car if they don't offer an OEM BBK. If anything I want my wife's car to look as nice if not better than mine. Anyway good luck.

Here's what they'll look like.

They look good. I will do it eventually but can't now. So will try cover for the mean time. Where did you get those? OEM? Calipers or full set?

The ones in the pic are MGP caliper covers on another members Altitude.
I have OEM Brembo's painted gloss black.

My neighbor also has an altitude and he put the caliper covers. From across the street it's hard to notice they're fake, but once you're next to it, it becomes really obvious. I agree with MOFSTEEL, they do look cheap and take away from the look of your vehicle which, IMO, looks very good.

I understand. What other thing I can do beside going to full brake system for now? Between painting the caliper and covers, don't really want to paint the calipers as they will be more notice/ cheap.
Wondering how much will be just 4 aftermarket/oem calipers that can fit on the current rotors.
