The problem with a long test drive is that it might blow a deal on tire replacement. I was able to get full take-off credit for the Latitudes with a local tire dealer (arranged in advance) because I drove the Jeep directly from the dealer to the tire dealer (slightly under 4 miles.)

Obviously I had to pay the difference in price, upgrading to 4 LTX AT/2s, plus I bought Road Hazard coverage - but Michelin had a rebate going at the time, so it didn't cost much to make it "right".

Re: My Order Is at the dealer

When you test drive, listen carefully to the rear suspension. Mine wasnt the only one with " bad bushings" from the factory. They where bad and had a bad creaking I noticed halfway home.

PS they will be replacing it for a second time as it is creaking again 2 months later.

Re: My Order Is at the dealer

when i test drove my Overland (only about 10 miles but much of it on the interstate) i heard the harmonic drone between 65-70 that many others have spoken of. you could also feel the slight vibration through the steering wheel. they had a master tech ride with me and he heard it as well but neither of us did in the passenger seat. basically, they had no clue - had never heard about this issue - and didn't know what to do to fix it so i just took it home since i read about many others that were experiencing this. they also drove another Overland on the lot and it had the same noise - which to them meant that it was 'normal'.

i don't even notice it anymore. not sure whether it went away or i just don't hear it above the radio. i only have 1400 miles on it. this was the 20in forteras.

all this to say - don't freak out if you experience the drone at 65-70mph because i almost think its tire related or maybe its the 4X4. it's not an issue to me and i no longer hear it.

rockrash, good luck, enjoy the new car smell, and hope you have as much fun trying out all the goodies. Looking forward to pics and what happens with your tires.

Re: My Order Is at the dealer

Just got back from dealer Overland was almost perfect. Drivers side passenger door out of alignment top back. Not flush with body out about 1/16'' higher than body.Possible for driving rain to make its way in. Also same door, chrome trim close to window out of center to left to right. Dealer said has to be approved by Chrysler they will take pictures get approved then send to body shop for door adjustments & new trim chrome strip. Other than that everything was perfect. I did not sign papers when its 100% i will be happy to accept. Not a big deal dealer was very nice and agreed with me he even apologized even though its not his fault.
