That's an excellent question... this happened so suddenly, that i have no idea... I gotta start searching around a bit. No offense, but I think everyone I know would b*tch slap me if I got another Chrysler product.
I honestly am happy with the 13, but the 14 kinda scares the isht out of me with all of the problems. Now, of course the noise made by people with the problems outweigh the silence from the people that don't have them, but still, Jeep seems kinda confused as to what to do with it when it hits the fan.

Just out of curiosity, was this a finance/purchased out-rite/ leased rig?

The limited was financed. This Overland was a lease (did not trust it enough to buy it).

Wow! What an awful experience.
The numerous 2014 JGC electrical and transmission problems are beyond rationalization. Between this site, Jeepforum.com, Edmunds.com, and Kbb.com it's very scary and sad. Buyer beware!

I know, right... that's how I convinced myself to get the overland, after the issues I have had with the first one. I figured there was no way I could get two duds in a row.

Smart smart man. I don't know, if I was in your shoes, I would spend the 500+ (or whatever you were spending on it) and get into an X5 or ML.

Doesn't seem like Jeep likes you very much, but hey, we do

Aw, thanks Chunderboy

My wife actually has an X1, that she really, really likes... so she called her dealer and told him to price out an x5 for me. That would definitely be on the very high side of what I could swing.

That is certainly something that only you can decide. Just wondering if they had some left over's from 13 with the 6 and not the 8. Either way, man, 2 new rigs in a row. Thats so bad luck or bad product.

Re: My replacement is here!

If I had two lemon Grand Cherokees, and got out of both, I'd get a base Porsche Cayenne with 8 speed automatic transmission and heated multifunction steering wheel. I wouldn't need all of the extra options. I got my Overland for the looks and interior looks and Nappa leather, not for the options, well maybe I'd get bi-xenon headlights too. Porsche base model looks good in my opinion especially the interior, uses quality materials, and is about the same price of an Overland V8, except the Cayenne V6 is faster than Overland V8. And the Cayenne has very accurate steering / holds the road. Every other vehicle out there doesn't interest me.

Ya know, I always just assumed that the Cayenne would be out of the price range, but never really looked into it. If what you say is true, then it kinda is a no brainer. That is unless you really wanna go off roading with it. But if it is going to be a 95% tarmac queen, then why the hell not?

Re: My replacement is here!

I test drove a Cayenne when I was shopping a couple of years ago. It had an MSRP of $54,115. The Overland V8 I bought was $46,015 and I liked both, but I preferred the price of the Overland and the exterior styling. Now the MSRP of an Overland V8 is about $50,000.

Re: My replacement is here!

Good luck with that one...

It's $51k for one with no options at all after just picking a color and that's with a manual transmission. The least expensive Cayenne V6 at my dealer in Pittsburgh is $58k. Problem is, when you buy a car for that much money, you expect a navigation, sunroof, memory seats, an automatic transmission and some other niceties that even a Kia comes with.
