Re: My Summits Built....Pending Inspection FINALLY

I saw a New Summit coming off a truck this week right next to an Overland with 20", the new polished rims look much brighter than the painted ones...

Re: My Summits Built....Pending Inspection FINALLY

Dan, don't mean to rob your thread or anything, but mine is built as well pending inspection.
I ordered 3 days after you and was following your build status very closely. When you went D1 at the end of Feb I was hopeful I would follow shortly after. But I remained in D status.
today I checked my status and went from D to I. I don't even have a time for the D1. I guess there was a clitch in the system of something. Any way it looks like we have the same delivery date!!

Hopefully the same is happening with some of the others that ordered about the same time as us and are still showing D status.

No thunder to rob...LOL...was just posting so others who are waiting like I was but ordered after me know about what to expect. I saw that yours went "I" too congrats...I would expect others who ordered in January to get built real soon too....it is a frustrating wait. My estimated delivery date changed once it went KZ...that is, once the factory releases the vehicle they revise the delivery date to a more accurate date.

Re: My Summits Built....Pending Inspection FINALLY

Hopefully I will go KZ soon and get an updated arrival time. I will not need it until the 2nd of April anyway, so it should make it.. Mine will be delivered to Atlanta area.

Re: My Summits Built....Pending Inspection FINALLY

Candy Girl,
I would be careful reading too much into these status because they are only periodically sampled and it seems that intermediate state changes are skipped between the updates. Also that the current location might be coming from a different database then the current status as they are not updating consistently.

Our dealer has been keeping us informed on the progress of our vehicle through the process. In the middle of last week we went through the build cycle (E–framing, F–paint, G–trim) so would expect the status to represent one of the built status, not that we are still a D1 which is a scheduled Gateline as shown here.

Again here our current location is hold released and in bay, which implies we are past D1 Gateline. I am giving more credibility to the information the dealer has been feeding me, which they say they sample status on their vehicles in process several times a day and I can clearly see that current location and the Status don't jive with each other in this database.

So there may not be any issues, just the lack of synchronization between databases.

Re: My Summits Built....Pending Inspection FINALLY

Mine just went "Carrier Can Put On Hold" and the delivery date got bumped a day. I presume that is because the "can" (shipping can) isn't full yet for the final destination so hopefully they get it filled soon so that it can be loaded on a railcar. I'm just glad it quickly got released from inspection with no issues and is "In Bay At Facility".

I won't start making plans on getting rid of my 2005 Jeep until I see it moving on the rails.... Too bad you can't fly up to get it and save the $780...I have to bounce up to that area sometime in the next few months anyway which I can schedule whenever...

This is the first time I have ordered a vehicle....always bought off the lot. As I understand it, Jeep right now is still a bit backlogged so this long wait is not the norm.

If you look up all the dealer build codes there is one that includes "vehicle stolen" and one for "recovered stolen vehicle".....now that wouldn't be fun to watch and wait for!!! LOL

Re: My Summits Built....Pending Inspection FINALLY

And for those wondering when to expect their online window sticker to generate...mine just went up....sooooo.....built yesterday along with going KZ (plant release) and my stick is available today (about 24 hours). BRIGHT Polished Wheels and 730N so all set....will check dealer stock to see if lists "in transit"....

Re: My Summits Built....Pending Inspection FINALLY

Jrmalia, Thanks for the info. I think that mine should go KZ in a day or two, but that JB status has me worried. I understand it can be as little a scratch or a paint imperfection, but I am jittery about it. I am SO particular about my vehicle. Any thoughts on JB status is greatly appreciated!

Re: My Summits Built....Pending Inspection FINALLY

This thread is really good fun, and as someone on the wait list, I appreciate seeing the updates from those of you who are finally well into the process. I've been telling myself that the "wanting" is better than the "having."

I'm with you, and I'll be there vicariously sweating out every railcar transfer during shipment, until your vehicles arrive safe and sound !

Just one question for JRMALIA.....
Is the 2/18 order date and other date info posted in the build thread on your Summit generally accurate ?

If so, please forward the pictures you have of Chrysler executives to me asap...!!!!

Steve

Steve to be more accurate I would think that is actually "Chrysler Execs Break Dancing with Livestock!"

Re: My Summits Built....Pending Inspection FINALLY

The "Carrier Can Put On Hold" may actually be reserving a space for a specific can and NOT a "hold" on the vehicle...sorting like having a reservation for a seat on a plane so that entry appears to be a non-issue with respect to the vehicle itself.

Mine has since "Departed Facility" (was previously "In Bay At Facility"). Next will be "Loaded On Railcar"...which is what I am waiting for so that I will know the coast is clear so that I can put my 2005 Jeep on a "D" "firm schedule" for sale...LOL
