Re: Need help deciding on rear DVD

Just found this thread. I was debating the same thing. I ended up ordered the rear DVD system, even though I liked the IDEA of the panoramic sunroof. In the end, I realized that my wife and I NEVER use the sunrooms in our two cars. We always have the cover closed, because half the year the sun in Utah is so hot you don't want it coming through, and the other half of the year it is cold enough that you want the extra insulation. We also figured that with all the families with kids around here, we could sell it again easier with the DVD system. I hope I don't regret my decision....

I'm curious. I'm not an Electrical Engineer but I'm guessing that this outlet is good for low wattage things. No way it's going to run a Shop Vac or compressor. Correct?

Re: Need help deciding on rear DVD

Oops! Sorry. It looks like I broke this thread with a new topic. But it's Sunday morning, I just woke up, no coffee and I headed for the computer. Now that I am awake, caffinated and showered I realized that there was a second page. Anyone know if there is a Jeeps Garage Anonymous out there?

Re: Need help deciding on rear DVD

Sid, I think the rear outlet is good for 150 watts which is plenty to power a laptop, but not a big screen TV!

I'm a rear view mirror watcher, and that DVD panel hanging down would really bother me. But, I agree with the resale value thing for families with young children. Barney makes a good ride companion!

Re: Need help deciding on rear DVD

Hey, I'm from the '40s, pre-TV!!! And yes, I realize it's only when hanging down, but I'll still stick with a laptop for the rear passengers!
