Re: need help on decision for new jeep!

You talking about comparing the V8 with rebates and steep discounts to a newly released CRD. I seriously doubt you will find the CDR with steep discounts anytime soon, although a friends/family type below invoice deal will probably lessen the impact assuming the CRD is not restricted like the STR8 is. You may also find mandatory premium option requirements... but just saying pick a number you like and go with it. You are not going to rationalize the purchase of a CRD based on sound economic considerations, but if you like its performance and coolness, or need or want one, and have some patience, buy it.

If you really want the CRD and can wait for it, then do it. But if you can get a smoking deal on a 12 or 13 hemi, then go that route and get a new remodeled 17... Your call
I got 21.5 mpg with Cruise control set at 70 mph with my hemi.

Re: need help on decision for new jeep!

lol wonder if Im more or less sure now which I want after posting haha.. over 21 mpg with a hemi is not too bad at all on highway Im pretty good at milking out best mileage.. one main thing is as I mentioned previously, I will not use too often.. be lucky to put 6k miles a year on her.. think Im leaning towards Hemi

Re: need help on decision for new jeep!

Wait for the CRD, and the 8 speed. It will be worth it! Worst case is you end up test driving the CRD and Hemi and you are able to make a more informed decision then. You will kick yourself if you buy now.............

Re: need help on decision for new jeep!

If you only put on 6k....Get the Hemi and be done with it!!

Getting the CRD wouldn't be worth the extra $ that you will save with a 12 or 13 Hemi

Re: need help on decision for new jeep!

I just picked up an altitude with the hemi, got it for about $550 under invoice, then the rebate. With the 1500 powertrain bonus, it was basically a wash price wise between the v6 and v8. If you push the dealer, you should be able to get it below invoice without an issue, especially if they know the 14s are around the corner.

Re: need help on decision for new jeep!

i believe it can in fact get 33 MPG and up.. my friends excursion could get 30 if you were nice to it on the highway once he had it modded and that thing was 6000 pounds.. Anyone know what invoice it on a loaded hemi laredo x or a limited? I knew fords when I worked at dealer but not familiar with Chrysler/Jeep.. SAPI would you mind telling what it came out to? so I have an idea there is one hemi altitude in the area im considering as well
