I've ordered my wife a 2012 Overland for our anniverssary. It will be here hopefully early next week. The kicker is, although she wants one so bad, she has no idea that this is coming. I've told her she can have anything but a Chrysler product, but she doesn't even want to look at anything else.
So I borke down and ordered her one about 5 weeks ago.
I'm looking for creative ways to present the GC to her as a surprise.
Take her to the fanciest restaurant around for celebrating the anniversary, after giving her a massive bouquet of flowers.
Drive your own vehicle to dinner, but have the new Jeep completely waxed and detailed awaiting your arrival. Make sure the place you eat at has valet parking.
At the end of the meal, pretend you are having your own car brought around, but instead, make sure the valet brings her new Grand Cherokee.

My father bought a new M3 for my mother for their 20th wedding anniversary.
He had me deliver the car to his house early that morning and place it on the driveway in an attractive position, and I then attached an HUGE novelty bow to the car.
He kept her out the back of the house, made her a coffee to keep her busy, RELAX he says . They had made plans to go out for "brunch" and he handed her keys as they were walking to the door for her to drive. She opened the door, saw the M3 (white with pink bow), looked at the keys and realised they were not her old keys, and LOST HER SHIT! lol
Great memories
They've since split up. Mum got the M3.
LMFAO!!
If you did a restaurant thing that you parked, had a friend drive the new rig over and replace your car in the parking lot with the jeep and when you walk out walk straight up to it and climb in meanwhile if your wife is paying ANY attention to what is going on she will be scratching her head for a second as to what your doing...
The wife saw this post and is currently deep in thought, I may have other suggestions coming ha ha... ultimately she said "whatever happens it had better involve a HUGE red bow" lol
If she works hide the key somewhere in her purse that she wouldn't see it throughout the day. Then have her car towed and park the jeep in its place. Then make up a story somehow for her to try to find the owner of the jeep. When she grabs the handle of the jeep it unlocks.....also to seal the deal put a card in the seat or something like that. Be creative!
The valet idea is definetly at the top of the list. Its only the logistics that will make this one a little more difficult to pull off, but would be well worth the effort.
Keep the ideas coming and thanks for all of the input so far.
I put the smallest bow I could find on my new wife's sunroof when I surprised her and dropped it off at her office. Told her they were out of the big bows. She laughed. Her coworkers at the firm were jealous.
I would take her to the dealership when the Jeep comes in, tell her you are reconsidering the Jeep and you want to test drive it again. Place a note in the Jeep a head of time, the note should read This Jeep was Personally made for and write your wifes name on the note.
I dont know what was up with the "anything but a Chrysler product" comment, but I think people will be getting out of that mentality pretty quickly though with how nice newer Chrysler products are. My friend at work just spent $60,000 on a new X5 a couple months ago. He has been driving the dealerships loaner for an entire month now as the one he bought new was absolutely plagued with electrical issues.
Anyway, back on subject..maybe another way to do it to keep it a little more simple is to swap out her current car with the new one without her knowing. Maybe make plans to go out for a nice dinner then when you guys walk into the garage she sees the new Jeep. Then the rest of the night is for you guys to enjoy and im sure she will have permagrin the rest of the evening
I know when I ordered my Dodge Ram, it came with a factory sticker stating it was built for Mr. Bry@n _________...So if you ordered it in her name, it will come that way.
Personally, I would have the dealer deliver the Jeep to your house early in the am and just let her walk out to it. I like surpirses but my wife would catch on quick with the fancy dinner etc... I think it's more of a shock if they are going about their normal day and it hits em...
Suprise her with the key, and attached to the key is sort of a "treasure hunt/map" with clues to where the car is. Can use places from your relationship's past. First date location, first apartment together, etc.
Park the new jeep near her car at work or at store or something (somewhere so you can see whats about to happen). Put a card or note on her seat (somewhere she will notice) that says "turn around" or "look over here". When she does, hit the panic alarm on the jeep with you inside so she knows its you. good luck
Just a quick update. Still waiting on delivery of the GC; scheduled to be here either Wednesday or Thursday. So far, liking the valet idea, but that would mean more in the way of logistics to get worked out, plus waiting another day or two to give it to her. The 6 week wait alread is killing me; don't know if I can hold out much longer.
I really think you should wait it out, and do the valet idea. Even call the valet at the restaurant ahead of time, and drop it off earlier in the day. On the night you and your wife go out, have the valet guys keep your car till the next day, because that way you can drive the new Jeep home with your wife, and then the next morning your wife will have to drive you back to the restaurant to get your car.
No way would I leave the new ride abandoned there at a restaurant. Of course I wouldn't give my wife such an extravagant gift even for a 20th Anniversary either. Good luck though.
Yep definitely do NOT leave it at restaurant overnight. Too many things could happen.
You want the Jeep to look amazing and offer the ultimate surprise when least expected.
She'll have no clue.
let the dealership know what you did. take her to the dealership and have her sit in one and blah blah blah and then show her that her license plate is already on it. have them put the plate on after she test drives it and you are "talking numbers"
