Re: Need Purchasing Help ASAP! Calling on Jeep Pros

I agree with DanJGC. Shipping damage + bad radio, but with 5 yr bumper to bumper (still push for 7) sounds pretty good to me. You should be wary of dealer owned cars (MSO titles) in general, but this one hasn't been driven around at all...17 miles is nothing.

However before you rush into this, you need to evaluate if the deal is really "good" or not. Sure the price point might be what you want, but if you could get a brand new undamaged car for the same or less money, why wouldn't you? Calculate the invoice price of that configuration on Ordering Info and Pricing thread linked above and subtract 1-2%. You should definitely be able to get that price locally, or 5.5-6% off via one of the group buys.

Don't they still put the a/c condenser in front of the radiator?

When I see bumper and radiator I think there must be more stuff in between.

Re: Need Purchasing Help ASAP! Calling on Jeep Pros

Thanks so much all. So we decided to go with the Limited, too much going on with the Overland from the start and was more stress than we needed especially for what we were investing. Got all the way to the other dealership, and it had sold this afternoon. Damn.

Looks like we are now on the lookout for a 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited Lux II package, Black exterior and interior, panoramic sunroof, HID headlights, less than 25K miles and in good condition. Some we had found were already pretty beat up.

Thanks again

Can't you just order a new Black/Black Overland? That's my suggestion.

Here's my input...

I was looking used as well, because typically you can get a better deal. The issue that I found, was that 2012+ are STILL commanding a premium, to the point where you get order a brand new 2014 for a few grand more. Financially, it just doesn't make sense, especially if you're planning on financing for 36 months (0% right now). Why would you rather spend damn near the same amount of a brand new car, for a used car with 25k miles on it?

That's kind of how i ended up with my 2014 Overland. When started looking for a new vehicle a few monnths ago, i wanted a 2012 White/Saddle Overland with under 25k. After doing my research, i determined that a fair price for that car would be in the 30-32k range. I found two at seperate dealerships in the color combination i wanted, one v6 with 12k on it and the other a Hemi with 22k on it. Both dealers wouldn't budge off 35k. I started looking around 2014s and saw that i could get a lightly used, lux II limited for around that price so my attention shifted to the 2014 models. After a month or so of stalking autotrader and cars.com, i came across a 2014 White on Indigo V6 Overland with 6k, advanced tech and an 08/13 build date for 38k at Chevy Dealership in North Carolina. I called right away and left a deposit and they flew me in the next week to pick it up. Drove it back home 12 hours, have had it for a month and so far so good

I'm now kind of glad that the dealers with the 2012's declined my 32k offers because the 2014 is freakin awesome and i didn't have to spend extra money on color matching the grill, rear brow and getting rid of that chrome plate on the side which i fully intended to do had i purchased the 2012.

Last November we bought a Limited with Luxury II, Tow IV, Uconnect 8.4 w/Nav and 20" wheels. It is basically an Overland without the leather dashboard, QuadraLift and some of the stuff in the tech package like collision avoidance, etc. It has the luxury of the Overland without some of the stuff we just didn't care about. List price was $45K and change and we bought it for $41K and change (about 4.5% off of invoice).

We began by looking at Overlands and ended up with this Jeep. We are very happy.
